I usually don't like to quote Wikipedia but A person's "locus" (Latin for "place" or "location") is conceptualised as either internal (the person believes they can control their life) or external (meaning they believe that their decisions and life are controlled by environmental factors which they cannot influence). I always knew I was the type of person to take control of my own life. When I finally learned about this idea, it helped me to really conceptualize the idea and (I believe) make me a better person. I think this concept is something that needs to be taught earlier in life. | ||
