[SC2] Interesting hack & Blizzard's crappiness

Played a game today vs some noob Protoss. He sucked and lost. The interesting thing was some kind of hack that followed. I don't allow messages from non-friendslist so he couldn't PM me. So this guy did something that forced my game client to join a channel where he joined and wrote some BM message and left.

It was pretty interesting and a clever 'hack' to the barriers Blizzard put in place. This hack and other hacks like maphacks seem to show that Blizzard's security is really crappy. With the real money AH coming out for Diablo 3, I'm not feeling too confident.

You're positive it forced you to join the chat channel and you didn't hit any keys at the moment the invite got sent or anything?

It's just...really odd. That anyone would put the time into developing and distributing a way to do this is kind of confusing to me.

This isn't a hack. People who add others can invite them against their will to any channel. If you had blocked him you wouldn't have seen his chat. Again, nothing hack or security related here.

Case closed.

Yes, this.

Blizz security is just as good as other competitive gaming companies.

yep and disable the option that makes you auto-join chatchannels from people who invite you.
callling out on blizzard for no reason... tz tz

Actually had something like this happen to me awhile ago, and I disagree that there isn't a security issue here. The reason I think that (and have discussed it with Blizzard support) is because I didn't have any of the settings you mention enabled. I did not have autojoin enabled.

It's just a bypass, god. He simply invited you to a chat channel.

Not a hack. You can invite anyone into a chat channel if that person doesn't have it disabled. There's a reason why every streamer used to join a bunch of channels that were called like "fasjofjaiofhsiu" before this option was added.

Just uncheck the option that auto joins chat channels on invite. Also you're just as bad as him you're just BMing him in public. If you take the time to erase your own name why not his? You're essentially doing the same as he was lol.
