2012. The last year of the mesoamerican long count calendar.
For years we've heard that the world would end this year, and for years I've laughed in the faces of the people who have said such around me. That is until today.
If you asked me a few years ago to name 3 certainties of my existence they would be:
1. The Toronto Maple Leafs will never win another Stanley Cup.
2. Dr. Pepper is the greatest creation in human history
3. I would not live to see the day where I have a choice to play either StarCraft 2 or Diablo 3.
Alas, the day has finally come where #3 is invalid. For a decade now I've waited with baited breath for this day. Think about it - how many times in your life have you joked with someone that "StarCraft 2/Diablo 3 will never be finished," and yet, in a mere 15 hours the collective social lives of men over 20 will come to end. It will be a throw back to my early teenage years, where the phrase "nah Fuck StarCraft, I'm going to play Diablo" can actually be spoken from my mouth (without being one of those aging hipsters that still plays Lord of Destruction)
I'm certain that TL is full of people ready and excited to play Diablo 3, and to all of them I say "Yes! It's TODAY." My faith has been rewarded, Blizzard actually made the game, and the twilight years of my gaming life will soon begin.
... now all I have to do is make sure to not drop dead before midnight.

It's finally here folks. The first day of the rest of our lives.
Let's try as OP said not to die from dehydration and mostly let us not die from caffeine overdose, let us not neglect our girlfriends too much for date night is now Diablo night, let us not fail all our classes for we will fail only the ones that are boring, let us not get fired from our shitty jobs for this is the shitty job which will pay our holy RMAH.
