For me, Carlin is exactly what a humorist should be: someone who delivers a very very sharp social and political critic that is made only acceptable because of the the humoristic way in which it is delivered. For me he was as much of an activist than a humorist or a comedian. And god knows how much America misses having more of those people, especially today.
