If you're seriously worried, go see your family doctor and he'll probably give you some sort of cream for prevention just to make sure. I would honestly just wash my feet after physical activity and keep them dry.

The fungus is really contagious, but it also dies very easily to most common household cleaners. Scrubbing the places you think might be infected with some cleaner every couple of days (including washing bath towels etc.) will help prevent reinfection, but the best cure is the anti-fungal creams from the store. As far as diagnosis goes you don't really need to consult a doctor for athlete's foot unless you develop some type of severe reaction like a ring like rash called ringworm which can be caused by the same fungus anywhere on the body, but don't worry it's not a worm. Areas of raw or whitish skin can also develop (particularly between your toes) that you might also want to visit a doctor for. Most cases of athlete's foot are mild and can be taken care of without the need to see a doctor. Just keep clean and dry, good luck.

Sometimes, I get too lazy to put my food on a plate, so I just throw it in the microwave and then I scrape it off the microwave surface and eat it. When my friends drop food on the ground and won't eat it, I do. Yeah, so almost every day involves me eating food from a questionably sanitary source.
