Came back to play this dumb game again (why?), still slow as fuck, still constantly make ridiculous mistakes, still can't compete with legitimately good players, worst of all still can't control my temper after losses after all these years.. fuck
Not sure if I should quit again, even though this game can be really enjoyable at times maybe it isn't worth it.
Don't know why I'm posting this, maybe I'll feel better having written it, maybe someone has some wise words.. but I can't see why not so here goes!

What league are you in? If you are in really lower leagues, you can try just practicing against a computer for a while until you feel like you can get back into the ladder. Can streamline your builds, and refresh your memory.
|
Just play. I placed into Bronze with only one win, 4 losses. Switched from T to Z because all the TvT in the placements reminded me why I hate T, and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting promoted soon.
Trust me, you don't want to complain about the stupid shit that occurs in Bronze here. People are incapable of coherent thought. Sometime soon, someone will show up to tell you that you should be able to instantly be better at the game than you are, and the bizarre shit in Bronze shouldn't matter to you, because a pro could beat it.
Eventually, you'll lose all faith in humanity. Oh, and you're not allowed to just play for fun. If you're not trying to be the next big pro, WTF. If you don't enjoy playing against the AI, do it anyways. You'll be screaming at your monitor all day, now, unless I beat all the loonies to the punch by mocking them before they could say it.

Why get mad? You took a break... that isn't rewarded
Even If i take a week break I still have to get back to where I was..
And JingleHell... my point stands.

Uhm, your "point", paraphrased, was that if I was already far better than I am, I wouldn't have trouble against Bronze... which was entirely irrelevant and offtopic. It was people like you that made me give up and request a lock on that blog. The people who were so busy feeling vastly superior and giving utterly useless advice that they missed the point and ended up about 50 miles offtopic.
That blog was NOT an effort to dodge the strat forum guidelines, it was a humorous commentary on how vast the difference is between watching high level SC2 and playing in Bronze. Attempt to mention that it has the side effect of making practicing on the ladder at that low of a level a touch bizarre, and presto, it turns into condescension target practice.

A silver player could shit on bronze players. Thats ALL of our points we were trying to make.
We all understand it's weird and unviable play in bronze, but the fact that all you have to do is learn some mechanics and BOOM you're not playing that "game" anymore. lol...with all the tools available I fail to see what is keeping anyone in bronze..
There's quadriplegic players in masters... nuff said
we all understood exactly what you were saying in your blog... what else do you want us to say "Oh cool man good job this is awesome"... when we hear you complain about some kid making carriers on 1 base and you still lose

I wanted people to read the fucking blog at ALL, as it turns out. When the person admits to sucking, and knows it, and is very blatantly NOT asking for stupid fucking advice like "play better", choosing to take it as a whine blog so you can bash people over the head with your useless advice is downright rude.
And that's what I was warning the OP of this one about. Guaranteed to happen, because there's so many arrogant pricks who are too busy trying to boost their over-inflated egos by making utterly boneheaded statements like "IdrA could get out of Bronze against that kind of play, why can't YOU?". (That one actually made an appearance.)

The time it took you to post in this thread, to post your own blog and all the pictures you could have played numerous ladder games..

Want to come babysit my three year old for me while I play, or were you just trying that hard to continue your hot streak of giving irrelevant advice to make yourself feel smart? If people had contributed to the discussion I was TRYING to have, I wouldn't have gotten annoyed with them.
My free time is vaguely limited during the day, at least as far as stuff I don't want to jump up from is concerned.

Since the point of the post was anything BUT asking for help, this was all I wanted to begin with. As opposed to getting bashed over the head with unchecked ego.
Back to the topic: OP, when Bronze people do something confusing that you'd need to be considerably better to "beat easily" like everyone will tell you you should, just ignore them until you lose and focus on your macro. I had pretty good injects while I was staring at an unbreakable cannon wall.

No one said he was in bronze.. you just assume. He could be masters for all we know. Just drop it. You're angry that you suck, and thats clearly showing, especially since you came into this guys blog talking about your own blog that you "had closed". No one is going to tell you you are good player for being in bronze. Not in any quantum reality. Even if you said you were masters, people would still say you are bad and should get better
Bronze is Beginner

Oh, so unwanted, unasked, useless advice is DIFFERENT if it comes from someone who does it to feel better about themselves, as opposed to when it comes from somebody who admits they suck?
At least with the guy who admits he sucks you know to take it with a grain of salt. When it's the e-peen variety, it can be more confusing. And at least I don't think good advice is "don't be as bad as you are and you'll be better!".

Heh, way to hijack a thread. But to the OP, yep I understand that feeling sometimes. I'm not a very good player, just plat, and it really sucks when I can't seem to improve too.
Keep practising, but it seems you are WAY too serious about this. Unless you are really good, even if you get better you'll still win about the same amount, that's how the ladder works coz the opponents get tougher. (At least that's what I tell myself when I lose haha)
Set a goal for yourself and have fun at the same time For me I hope to hit diamond soon and that motivates me a lot.

That's actually how it IS supposed to work, so yes they do get tougher, at least on average.
