I intend to blow up their headquarters very soon.
I opened iTunes while playing a game of Starcraft today. Something came up about the terms of service, I quickly alt+tab because I had to make SCVs... And the terms of services thing popped up over SC2 so I quickly hit the decline button.
I make my supplies and my SCVs, alt+tab to my desktop, open iTunes again and this time I click agree and that do I see ?
My entire library erased.
WHAT. IN. THE. FUCK.
Not a single song on there. Not a single of my 5 carefully arranged and perfectly crafted playlists containing 5k+ songs each.
Now I know what you're going to say... Derpy derp, eeehhh, just re-add your music derp...
NO. NOOOOOOOOO. I have like 2TBs of music, there was some life changing music in there, some songs that maintained me alive, while some I don't like anymore and some I can only stand sometimes, when in the right mood. My iPod only can hold 32GB of music. DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH boxes I will have to un-check or check ???!!!
Solution: I'm going to fill up my car with explosives and blow up their HQs.
Don't buy Apple stocks.

...So pp and read the terms of service?

That sucks man.
I had a semester's worth of recorded lectures on my iPhone and accidently synced on another computer. All my recordings, music, textbooks, etc were gone. Spent hours cursing Apple for ruining my life and then realised I could go back to my "main" iTunes and restore from backup.
Man was I lucky.

There's a reason mechanics don't own Chryslers and IT people don't own Apple products....

I don't even know what to do now, I'm just staring at my screen. It's like my life was erased and I have to start over from scratch.
Can I reboot my PC to a previous date, I don't remember how it's called but you do that when you get viruses sometimes, you know, anyone knows if I can do something like that ?
Help.
|
I'm sorry, you really do have my sympathy.

4 Stars :D You lose one for not carrying through with your plans!
Lol. Turn everything apple off. Itunes, startup services, startup programs, automatic syncing, and do it all yourself. Sync only when you need to. It's not like windows security where delaying a security update by two weeks makes the update useless.
And it's not like you never remember to sync. As long as you have your ipod and computer I find it easy to remember to do when I have free time.

Help. What you are thinking about is probably System Restore, and that should only revert Operating System data. Unless you made a backup of your actual user data (normally not done automatically afaik), that's not gonna help. Maybe itunes has some backup function, I don't know.

Itunes does have backups for the ipod. Like if you delete things on your ipod you can restore it back, but if you delete your music library then I'm not sure.
Are you sure you deleted the songs and not just the library that itunes makes to index your collection?
Be careful not to wipe out the stuff on your ipod too.

Yeah man that's what I've always done, this isn't even a sync related issue, I just opened the damn thing and boom, no more.

lol
OP: really sucks... but changing your music system wouldn't be an alternative as it is basically the same work to remake the playlists i assume?
|
Wait you still have all your files? I actually had deleted everything and had to re-buy/re-import CDs at one point. Maybe I should make a blog to reminicse on that time.

Forget the whole "I'm an apple just to be against windows" and vice versa...
Apple cost for most of its products are just absurd for what you're really getting. Really no point to buy them unless you're like a singer or artist and use an Imac for that... Just my opinion of course though.

I still have all the files. I'm just really pissed at the thought of having to un-check or check everything as it will take weeks, months maybe...
I'm sorry for your loss, I can sympathize a little even tho yours must have been twice as horrible experience.
