I'm not sure what causes it, but i got this exact same problem after i plugged in a different mouse to use with other games. When I'd put my DA back in it would do that. I had to restart my computer to fix it. Maybe it has to do with other mouse drivers or something?

Well, I googled it and found some other people who had the same problem, but no solutions, just a, "My mouse fixed itself". I didn't look that hard though, so there might be something somewhere.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the drivers?
Did this happen after doing anything specific or unusual?
I don't know that much, so probably someone else could help better.

When it goes unresponsive and blinks a bit...that's when it's adding the death, yup.
Could it be an issue with the DPI switch? That sounds like a good explanation to me.

I've had the exact same problem. It occasionally arises, I would estimate about once every few weeks. Restarting the computer fixes the problem nowadays, but the first time I had to re-install the driver.

OK so I uninstalled the driver/firmware and reinstalled it and now things seem to be ok.

I had the same problem
Uninstall the driver and it should work fine however you won't be able to run a custom dpi or anything

I have the same problem but I think its just my usb drive being shitty.

I have the exact same mouse and had the exact same problem. I was playing on a laptop and it would from time to time blink and I would lose control for a sec or two. What I thought was the problem was insufficient power to the usb port (all 4 of my laptop were taken) . So I tried it on my PC and had no problem. However, it seems that playing on lowe dpi on the laptop seems to fix this problem. My suggestion is to try power dpi.

So the solution I eventually came up with was this: never plug in the Razer Deathadder while the computer is turned on. The driver gets stuck in some sort of scanning/recognize mode if this happens, and it basically flips out. If I plug in the mouse first, then turn the computer on, the driver starts and functions normally. If you have to unplug your mouse, you'll need to reboot the computer after plugging it in in order to get full functionality back.

A non-restart fix is ending the process razerhid.exe from task manager.
