I have been unbelievably busy the past few weeks, reading, studying, moving with accordance to the Earth's movements around the Sun and all that standard stuff. Man, so many things have changed. The blog section for some unfathomable reason, has recently seen an overwhelming increase of blogs ranting about StarCraft and Blizzard in general. So I thought it would be nice to make a good old fashioned blog going on and on and on about the problems of a teenager/young adult.

My favourite part of Mozart's Requiem, I love how "heavy" and emotional it is.





I recently finished reading "The History of Love" by Nicole Krauss. I enjoyed reading it to say the least. The writing style was more modern, and to me, made it easier to read compared to the previous book I read - "A Farewell to Arms" by Hemingway. I'am not entirely sure whether I like this kind of modern writing, so I guess I'll read more books written like it. Currently, I'am reading Salinger's "Catcher in the Rye", already finished a couple of chapters. Hitherto, I can say that I really like it. It connects with me in a way that I don't have the words to explain,and seeing that I'am, more or less, a typical teenager, I can see why it got so popular. After I finish with CitR, I might re-read "Jane Eyre", my favourite book. It was the first and probably only book that I have read that falls under Victorian Literature. I want to explore more great books from the Victorian Era, although I'am worried that if I want to learn English from the books, the vocabulary and sentence structure would be archaic, and thus, inapplicable

Besides reading books, I have also got to reading more online media like BBC and CNN ( I hope these are good sites ) to improve my command of English. BBC and CNN also has pretty awesome website designs. Also, in order to learn how to express my thoughts and ideas on more abstract and hard-to-grasp subjects, I have also started reading a couple of Atheist blogs. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but I find by doing so I'am provoking critical thinking, which is always good right?

I have also been playing some Maplestory (SEA) while listening to QI which is running in the background through YouTube. Lord Fry and his guests always eases the pain of monotonous grinding. I finally created my Ultimate Explorer. I chose a Bandit because I think that Bandits are awesome. At level 74, you can say that I messed up my Chief Bandit skills already. Why? Because I only added 2 skill points to Band of Thieves and the rest went to Pickpocket and Meso Bomb. I don't care what anybody says though, Meso Bomb is awesome and you know it. It doesn't really matter anyway right? I'm also going to cap my Bandit's DEX at 50, although I'm not sure whether I should keep my DEX below 30. I know that DEX adds to the attack of Bandit's too, so why not right? What's the big difference between pure LUK and low DEX at the later levels?

I have also got around to listening to a wider variety of music, exploring different genres. Weirdest thing/album that I have listened to is definitely "Songs of the Humpback Whale" - Roger Payne. They are real recordings, and they are eerily soothing. Listening to them makes me feel a little sad, and leaves me in awe at the same time. While listening, I thought of an article I read a while back on the loneliest whale in the world. Thinking about it and listening to the whale songs make me depressed, mostly because I feel that I can empathize with the whale because I'm a pretty lonely person.

Moving on, I also developed a growing addiction to electronic music, fuelled by the album "Feed Me's Big Adventure". Favourite song of the album being "Grand Theft Ecstasy". If anybody can recommend me more albums like this, please do.




Lastly, I have started to take pictures of the wonderful scenery outside of my room periodically, just to see how each moment, and each day differs.

When I was your age, or maybe a bit younger, I remember reading the same sorts of stuff you're doing now - I'd recommend some of Dickens, particularly Great Expectations, and maybe you'd like Silas Marner (George Elliot) as well.

Great Expectations is so damn good. One of my favorite books ever written. I finally just got my wife to read it last year and she loved it. Dickens is so good just for his simple structure and beauty in compiling wonderful sentences.

Awesome shot. If you haven't seen it, Smoke is one of the most brilliantly smooth films. I recommend it as one of the top 5 films of the 90s.
