The BM that really disturbs me is when they start going into wishing you cancer and all kinds of horrible deaths and misfortunes for you and your family. That sort of stuff really makes me wonder if I want to play this game again. That's a line that I wouldn't cross and a line that when it's crossed against me, really gets to me. I wouldn't wish anyone a slow and painful death and I would certainly not wish for anyone to lose their loved ones. I love creative BM, where the people aren't taking themselves too seriously (I hope you step on a Lego piece.) and this one was just one of the many "P OP" whines that every P gets on ladder. Edit: How to deal with it. Ok, here is what I am doing. I am in general extremely mannered when it comes to SC2 because I think it's fun to talk to people during the game. I always start off the game with something along the lines of "GLHF and all that good jazz" or "GLHF ♥." I don't know how many people I have taught how to do the ♥ instead of <3. (It's ALT+NUM3) What does that have to do with dealing with BM? It's simple. After a game where you had to deal with a lot of BM that really got to you, just keep playing and be friendly and talkative during the next game. That usually results in some kind of civil exchange of thoughts and will restore your faith in the SC2 community after a low blow. Talk about a tournament that's going on, talk about that sick Marine split by MKP in the last game against DRG during MLG, teach someone how to do the ♥ or whatever you want. It's amazing what happens simply by being nice. I know it sounds like I am making this up but I have actually watched the replays of games I have won against opponents together with them and we shared our analysis. (It is a bit complicated because you can't really watch replays together, thanks Blizz). This sort of stuff does happen! Bring it out in people and you will laugh about BM like this. For the sake of not painting a wrong picture of me. I do get angry and I am not always that nice. There are games where I start off with a "GLHF ♥" and end with something like "If I was orb, I would call you all kinds of insensitive things, but since I am not I will just not say GG". Don't flame me for bringing up orb, I always make a reference to what he does when he rages because it makes my raging seem more intelligent and funny. | ||
