It's been a long time since I've picked up Brood War. Let alone commentate it. I don't think I've really done much of either since SC2 beta. I thought that since I'm participating in the D Rank Team League, I'd go ahead and put some time back into my favorite hobby and give it the love it deserves. Right now only Team 3 vs Team 8 games are uploaded, but I'll be doing another series tomorrow night, and so on and so forth until the season's end.
I'm no where near as knowledgeable as I used to be (which even back then was still pretty low) but I figure, this could lead more people into playing SC1 again. I'm not looking for feedback really, unless there is a pretty huge gaming error that needs to be corrected. It's D level stuff from Iccup, so it's not top level proleague that many BW fans love. Just enjoy it for what is is.
Psyonic_Reaver: incase you were wondering, the community's stance on racist drunks hasn't changed since you left. Feel free to crawl back to whatever hole you've been hiding in.
Oh shit, triple cast Psyonic Reaver + Sayle + NukeTheStar! Ressurection of the english BW commentary! If Klaz, CholeraSC, Diggity would come back, then I can gain at least 40% of my childhood!
Thanks for the positive comments everyone, I'm not looking to get back into it full time. Just for fun! But I wouldn't mind joining Nuke again for a cast. Been awhile. Never casted with Sayle but I know he's the current go to guy for English BW casting.

Glad to see that you are getting back into it, whether it is SC2 or BW. Hope to see you more!! Loved you in the beta stuff that you did, mainly the Green Forrest LAN
I'm surprised people remember the Green Forest LAN. Usually everybody just remembers Diggity and Day9 casting the finals Day 2. Not the poor guy who had to set up all the hardware, download the software, fix the issues, commentate and play Day 1. =p.
I'm also hoping to see Machine, LZ, and Nyoken come back to BW. So we can all hang out like we did in the good ol' days before SC2. =) Joking around and playing TMA instead of practicing. Telling Machine how bad he is. (Still do! <3)

yeah that's why JD cancels his lair as soon as his overlord scouts him and he just sends all of his lings in a bit of panic and then wins anyway
This might not (probably isn't) the right place to ask but...
Is anyone here playing both BW and SC2 at the same time? If so, is it affecting your play detrimentally in either (or both) significantly? I'm very interested (esp. after this beautiful cast) in picking up BW...

ty for any response
Unless you play semi-professionally, I can't imagine it being that detrimental to either. The BW competitive scene is tough, if you give it a real go, you'll surely pick up some better understanding of general RTS principles which you can also use in SC2, not to mention speed and multitasking.

No, neither game impacts my ability to play the other, especially since I used BW HKeys in SC2 and made sure to get my mouse sensitivity in both to be the same

"I felt like I was playing a computer"
seriously that is what he said? and zim race switched just cuz of JD? oh man oh man this is goood stuff. rofl
maybe i am just cursed with add, but i didn't really like your constant pausing of the game, i was on the edge of my seat thinking "when the hell does he go on with the game, that is what i came here for, if i want to know when to expand i'll go and watch day9!"
It's D rank. The point of my commentary at this point is to help improve the players who are more then likely the very same people from the tournament, but I'll try to cut down on the pausing. =)

Yay! And ya Nyoken too. Kinda forgot about him. Sorry dude =X And I loved you guys TMAing as well haha. Watched so much of your stream, as well as LZ's and Machine's. I even watched you play LoL, which just shows how much of a fan I am of you guys despite hating that game myself. Good times for me as an observer haha. It's funny how I LOVED EG back then because of LZ, Machine, Nyoken, G5 and yourself (due to your closeness with them), yet now I kind of dislike.....hate them as an organization because of "SC2 player sniping" despite me not even following the SC2 scene.
Yay! Damn dude I forgot how sexy you looked. *Stares at your profile pic*.
Really though, what made you decide to come back? I understand you're in the D-rank league, but why even join it? I still rooted for all you guys silently, but I could never get into SC2 no matter how hard I tried, so I got really sad that I wouldn't be able to follow you guys anymore along with Ret and Nony. And what has your twin been up to? Oh, and are you still living with Machine and them at....uh.....forgot which state. One last thing, I forgot about Machine's cat! Cats meow.
I'm back in Oregon, things kinda fell out between me and EG. As for D rank league? I've gotten really bad at SC, haha. Hopefully this will help me improve and I can get back to where I was, and hopefully move up to CRTL in the future.
Brent did you never really care for sc2? I remember early on you were around a TON but then dropped off. Didn't live up to the epicness that was bw? T_T;
Ah, I see. Too bad things fell out, but I'd assume you're still on good terms with Machine, LZ, and Nyoken since you mentioned them in your post. Hopefully that's the case, and I'll stop prying into your private life.
I kind of phrase it wrongly considering your answer. What made you decide to come back to SC? I know you are in the D-rank league, but why even attempt to play in an SC league when SC2 is so readily available and booming? Nostalgia?
SC2 was exciting during beta and just after beta, but I realized I was growing to hate the game. In a sense, I'm glad things didn't work out with EG. I'm still good friends with Nyo, Machine, and LZ, but I would be lying if I said we keep up as often as we used to back before SC2 came out.
If I could, I'd go back to how things were before SC2. Always good times happening on the stream. =)
Brood War will always be my home. I feel most comfortable here.
