I always knew that pro-gamers liked to party, but man you guys do a fair amount of drinking during the weekend. Do the Koreans do that also? After reading this side of things, idk how I feel about MLG. It's great that they treat the players so well, but renting out half a bar and hosting an open bar event? Isn't that like.... expensive?? It's great that it didn't cost the teams any money, but a 3 day hotel stay in downtown Manhatten has also got to be expensive. Idk how I feel about supporting MLG anymore...

The bar was the same that we did our official Barcraft at, they cut us a very, very, very steep discount.

So you don't wanna support them because they pay for accomodation for the players attending their tournament Haters gonna hate...

I didn't say I don't want to support them, I said I didn't know how I felt about supporting them. I'm glad Adam cleared things up a bit, but it seems like MLG is reshifting their focus and priorities. I don't want to completely side track the discussion here so I will just reiterate that I don't know how I feel about MLG's new focus and leave it at that. Also, calling someone a "hater" simply because they may have a different point of view than your own is quite juvenile.

I guess I'm just seeing MLG telling us we need to cough up $20 to watch this, telling us that PPV is a necessary direction for the industry; MLG fans arguing that we need to do this "for esports" and should support them in the best interests of this industry. Then I hear about MLG wining and dining players and the like. It's great to see the players getting rewarded, many of them deserve it; but on the other hand I don't know that I like the idea of MLG playing the heart strings of the community by telling us PPV is a necessary direction for the community then using the money in such a way. I guess at the end of the day MLG can use their money however they want, and incure whatever expenses they want. But as a customer, I can also spend my money on what I want. I'm not being convinced that the MLG model is the way forward for the industry. I'm going to be completely honest here. I would like to see players get better rewards and treatment, truth is I've got limited financials. While I'd love for you and your friends to have a wacky vacation in New York, somehow I just don't think that's the best usage of my money. I'll be sticking to NASL and other tournaments that don't charge me $$ to send players on a vacation to the world's most expensive cities. Whether my attitude is right or wrong, either way that's just how I feel. Take it for what you will.
