The problem has been how MLG announced it. They had spent most of 2012 hyping up the new format, the new Arenas, telling everyone how awesome the 32-man weekend is gonna be. Only to go, btw, most of you won't be watching once we're at the home stretch. The second has been talked about much more in the main threads: MLG pulled a bait n switch on their gold pass subscribers, much like what they did to their silver pass subscribers last month. While it may fill their short term coffers, these post-purchase switch-a-roo is insulting to their loyal customers. Frankly, they deserve all the flak, and maybe a bit more. Imagine if another firm who has a poorer understanding of community management, like NASL or Berlin Open, that pulls the same shit twice in a row. | ||

I believe MLG is making a big mistake overestimating their product - if they had charged something reasonable ($10), then the backlash won't happen. The consumers are going to send MLG a strong message by voting with the wallet. | ||
