So, I may not be the most popular guy around, or the most well liked apparently, but I've been working with a lot of big stuff recently, and I wanted to share a little bit that some of the community might be interested in.
To clarify a little on who I am and what I do:
First and foremost, I'm the manager for the Professional Starcraft 2 Team, Team Clash. If you don't really know who we are, I wouldn't be surprised, but now you do!
On top of that, I'm currently managing the production of the E-Sports Weekly Match, a new tournament coming from Korea to award one Code A seed to the overall winner for each GSL Season.
Finally, I also work with the Korean Starcraft 2 League, mostly handling press releases and information of that sort.
I also do a lot of unofficial things which pop up from time to time, so if you know anything about other things I've done feel free to ask about that.
I'm also open to all sorts of mundane questions. If you like me, and would like to take me out to dinner and want to know where I'd like to eat? Yeah I'll answer that.
If you don't like me and want to know how to hurt my feelings? Yeah, I'd probably answer that too. I did say "anything".
Anyway, I'm not expecting to get a huge amount of questions, but hopefully even if you just glance at this, you learned something about two huge up-and-coming tournaments, as well as a team of the same nature.

Why does the KSL not rebroadcast at hours that are not abysmal for NA viewers? I mean, you can watch the vods, but I always forget, and so do most people it seems. It's kind of sad that something as awesome as a bo11 between FXO and NSHS gets so few views.

Well, when it comes to the KSL what we wanted to do was provide, first and foremost a LIVE broadcast. The tournament is also geared more towards Europe than it is towards North America, just slightly. As far as rebroadcasts go, due to the nature of the original broadcast we don't currently have the means to provide a rebroadcast like NASL or IPL do, just because we don't have a studio environment.
It's just near impossible to find a time that lines up for NA viewers, EU viewers, and KR players. With the EWM, we eliminated the KR players aspect which allows us to broadcast (from replays) at ideal times for both NA and EU viewers.

Probably my favorite restaurant of all time. Either that, or there was a small cafe in Metz, France I ate at once that had absolutely fantastic food.

Server/League/Rank? (Lol the TL equivalent of A/S/L, I guess)
Also were you going to eat any shirts/shorts now that TSL won't win GSTL? (They are out, right?)

Wait. You're from Atlanta? So am I. Next time i'm in town I'll give you a call.
What was your first videogame ever?

That's easy. Murder Plexa, Marry R1CH, Shag Hot_Bid.

My first video game ever, hmmm. I don't really recall, as I was very young, but I'd have to say Super Mario Bros. for the Super Nintendo.
The first game I played that I really latched onto was Halo. I used to be the biggest Halo fanboy around, and I played Halo 2/3 at pretty high levels.

I started out at the bottom of the Bronze league, as I really just didn't flow with the game well, I had never been a huge RTS player. (Shooters and RPGs are what I play the most in my free time). After I began watching professional Starcraft, I quickly shot up to Platinum after a few weeks of practice. I managed to hit Diamond about a month later, and then began breaking from the game. I'm simply too busy to invest the amount of time I used to into playing games.
I was never silly enough to make any sword swallowing or fabric eating bets around the GSTL as it's a very mercurial league, especially with the new format. Perhaps I might've if it used the same league format as it did last season.

I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with all of the coaches I've spoken with. If I had to choose though, I'd probably say Coach Choi from MvP. He's always fun to talk with.

Are we going to see Team Clash represented in any upcoming live events? Have you spoken much with Coach Lee lately since the whole Alive fiasco? Also what is Heart up to these days?
|
How did the KSL get formed? Was it the teams who decided to organize it cooperatively? And how did you get involved with it?

has ksl ever had any contact with the gsl?

I'm actually not aware as to the answer to this, but I'd have to guess they've spoken to GOM in the past.

The formation of the KSL, as far as I'm aware, came from Own3D reaching out to the teams, and working with them to create the league. I got involved with the KSL through SK.Reis who is always a pleasure to work with.

Members of Team Clash will be attending MLG Colombus, including myself, and we have plans to attend all MLG events afterwards as well.
I have spoken to Coach Lee quite a bit since the aLive incident, and from what I can gather Heart is currently, like SangHo, seeking to join a foreign team.

I try not to keep a favorite players ranking, simply because there are too many players I like. Definitely my second favorite NA Terran though, you lose to ClashPanther

That's a tough one, because there are so many good threads out there.
Off the top of my head, I'd have to say The "Hwaseung Oz New Recruits" thread IdrA Fan Club The Automated Ban List Why ZeNEX Will Win GSTL -Fionn "Incontrol: A Chil Malaster????? The Reel Truth"

Why did you leak out the fact that aLive would join Fnatic?

This might be a hard question to answer but, What is the future of the KSL? It almost feels to me like the KSL has not achieved what it set out to achieve. Now with more and more korean tournaments joining the mix (EWM, maybe even the FIS), it seems to me there is a possibility of the KSL becoming phased out of being a regulaer tournament, as we already see its transition into a "weekly" tournament. Will we ever see the KSL go back to the individual league format again? Also, how did the idea of having the EWM pop up? Was it a tournament like gsl where it was geared for both foreign audience and Korean audience? Or is it just extra content for the foreign community?
