So I've always been a slow starcraft player APM wise. i know it doesn't make a difference in your skill but my APM has been limited by my mental capacity in the game. I don't play fast because I simply don't know what to do.
Well, today in a matchup (admittedly against a guy who picked the wrong race) against protoss, he two based all-in'd me with some really heavy aggression. I normally fall apart and lose to such pressure but today, I kept my cool and won the game. I noticed during the game: holy shit I'm playing really fast right now! It was cool because during that game, something clicked and I remembered what I was supposed to be doing. I expanded during the aggression, kept hitting my injects, and managed to focus on the battle. yeah my money sky rocketed, but it was still cool cause I was managing my base better than i ever had before. it felt like my hands were flying across the keyboard during his attack on my natural. It was so cool and I really wanted to share it with TL 
I attached th replay for anyone that wants to see it (although I don't expect to many will  )
But yeah, I wanted to post something Sc2 related about how I feel like I'm getting better at this game ^^

APM isn't a direct translation to skill, but If you play faster you're mind stays in the game and everything seems to come out on time when you're paying attention!

Pretty much this. I realize that sometimes too, and my clicking accuracy also rises. I guess you just hit a stim pack moment where you feel like you can beat anyone.

Previous posters may be right, but don't be saddened by their comments: it's rather that as you become better, your apm rises a little, than the reverse.
And wp for the defense !

Sounds like you broke through a mental plateau and I hope it sticks with you going forward!

I think this is what every SC player aspires to do. It leads to the "state of flow", which I think you may have hit judging from the description. :D
