This is my first smartphone (Galaxy Nexus) and I'm trying to configure it so that I can make calls via Wifi on it. My apartment has terrible reception in my room and I dislike having to go to the balcony every time i want to make a phone call. I would prefer to make phone calls in my room via my Wifi router that's in my closet. I've tried to configure Google Voice to do so, but it's only giving me options to use it to make International calls.

Any way to make free phone calls via the Wifi in my room?

You should not have to pay to watch the GSL, Proleague, or OSL at a reasonable time. That is not "fine" and it's BS to say otherwise. My sig since 2011. http://www.youtube.com/user/dabom88

you just need to find a software that works. Skype for instance comes to mind, if theres a mobile client for this you might be able to. Try google maybe, idk, "wifi phone call app android" or something like that?

Can Skype really do that? I have the app (added the fact that I have a Galaxy Nexus in the OP), but I thought it was only free to call other Skype numbers and that it cost money to dial actual phones.

Yes, skype can do it - but it'll cost money to dial actual phones - although it's quite cheap, esp if you call landlines.

You can use Skype. I pay 9.00 every 3 months for unlimited Canada/USA calling and you can use ur data to make calls or on wifi with Skype.

Google voice and skype are probably the best/most widely-used options.

Have you tried actually calling your service provider? My sister couldn't get a phone signal in her house so at&t sent her a little signal booster thing(can't remember what's it's called) for free. Perhaps she met some kind of special requirement but trying never hurts.

Plenty of Korean-Americans and Americans who are non-Korean use Kakao Talk if that's what you're referring to. I do anyway.

I guess I'll give it a shot, but I have Verizon.

My Google Voice isn't giving me an option to make local calls using it, only international options. It's only giving me 3 options.

1. Only use Google Voice for international calls.
2. Do not use Google voice to make any calls
3. Ask every time I make an international call.

I have a Galaxy S2, and when I'm connected to wifi, I can make normal phone calls over said wifi connection via a built-in piece of software. I'm on the t-mobile network, though. Does your phone give you any option like this?

edit: when this option is enabled and active, a little red icon appears in my notification bar on the top left. Looks like a little speech bubble.
