Why?
So, I pretty much check Nuke and Sayle's channels everyday looking for new casts of proleague and it's pretty frustrating because I usually end up watching proleague games 2 or 3 times. First when it comes out on nevake and then later whenever Sayle/Nuke decisdes to put up their English casts. I figure I might as well cast some Brood War while watching them the first time. Also, I kind of wanted to be more active on tl.net and my other web communities this year (part of new years resolution)...

Proleague, my goal is to do them consistently and as soon as they come out.

So, I could easily mix my audio in After Effects but then I have to re-render and the compress. Demux/remuxing software might be okay, but all the torrents seem to contain video in H264 and not avidemux seems to be having trouble with it. Anyway, if anyone has technical advice, to streamline the process that'd be great. I would rather spend more time on pregame research and stuff like that than video editing since I'm trying to cover as much of proleague as I can. Is it better to rip nevake's youtube videos or wait for torrents? Re-render or is there software out there that makes adding an audio layer super easy?
Lastly, I'm wondering if there's even demand for this... It feels most of the BW English commentators have become inactive or switched over to SC2 so I figured there would be demand. I'm a pretty big fan of Sayle and Nuke's commentaries but I'm wondering if there are people with the same issues I have in paragraph 1 of this blog post. I did a few trial runs (on 2 proleague sets) and there are some things I need to brush up on (eradicating uh's and ummm's for one) but I would like to think I'd be watchable.

I think it would be much more effective for you to focus on casting something else. Proleague is pretty well covered. Why would you want to recast games already done by Nuke/Sayle? Why would anyone want to watch that?

Sure , no one's stopping you in casting the games , but I think it's reasonable to give us a preview or a few demo's of your casting skill . People will naturally tune in to your casting if they find your casting is good .

What's your knowledge of BW? Do you have a high level understanding of the game? People listen to commentary because they want insights that they can't reach on their own, or because they want an interesting discussion. If you just want to cast, we already have that and I don't think anyone really would like to listen to some random guy talk about the game when there's other options out there. You need to bring something new to the table. What is that thing?

My BW knowledge is pretty decent... I've been following it since like 2003~ (though it's kind of on and off in terms of intensity). I might not know all the details on all the latest nuances,
What sets me apart? Not sure, I don't want to categorize myself before I even put any videos up...
And lastly, that last point, EternalLegacy is the reason I wanted to do this... moletrap's doing SC2, cholera's inactive and I wouldn't be doing this if the coverage was comprehensive. There are 6 series played a week during proleague, Sayle did a but his last videos (on his blip.tv) were dated the 14th... Nuke never had comprehensive coverage of proleagues, just random sets... Unless there's a channel I'm missing, these are the reasons why I feel there's a void in BW English casting.
I'll definitely put up some examples tomorrow or something...

Sayle wasn't casting recently because of his trip to Korea and due to him staying with his parents, as you probably know. It would be nice to have all the games covered but I don't see a point in casting games Sayle will cast (btw. he said before he would be just uploading some of the games on yt since he can't be streaming from his parents house), since most people will probably prefer to watch his casts over yours. Then again, I haven't seen you casting yet. Whatever you decide to go for I'm a fan already.-)

This brought up an interesting question in my mind, "WHERE IS NEVAKE?!" I checked the channel the other day to catch up on missed Proleague... to my dismay there were no videos there. What is going on?

For your technical woes:
Just use X-split, bro.
Download the VOD, run it in VLC player, record locally, and spit it out as whatever file format you want to support.
No audio syncing issues, no compression and decompression, just you adding your voice on top of what's already there.
