Hello, I am posting this because of some really unfortunate things that have happened with a visiting foreign friend over the holidays. I will try to make this concise as possible.
Basically I have a friend I met from Hiroshima who was coming to the states for Christmas/New Years and some time after to visit. I live in Minnesota, but her first two stops are in NYC and Baltimore to see friends there first.
The problem is one of her good friends is deciding to kick her out on the streets sometime prematurely before she can catch her next flight (for really stupid reasons, basically he took her out to a party and she danced with another guy, even though there suppose to be strictly friends... you can kind of figure the rest out). This is all happening during the holidays no less.
Anyways this leaves her in a very awkward situation, and she is not sure if she can afford to stay at hostels or hotels in the area, and I've exhausted contacting the very few amount of people I actually know who live in NYC.
Basically she just needs a place to crash until her flight on Jan 10th. It's vague when she is getting evicted from her former friends place, but I am sure I will know soon enough.
This is basically a plea to anyone with a kind heart and a roof to take someone in for a few days maybe a week. Or a plea for any advice that might be helpful for a person in this situation.
When I stayed in Japan everyone I met was very kind, even the seedier people I came across. This kind of cultural reciprocation is just terrible..... but I digress, as it's not the point.
if you think you can host a kind person for a few days or something along those lines, please pm me or respond to this blog. I wouldn't post this unless I really cared about my friend, and that I really thought she could get stuck in a huge foreign city with no place to go during the winter, and the holidays no less.

Would definitely help, I love Japanese people, incredibly nice and mild manner folks. Too bad I don't live in NYC, would definitely let her crash at my place here in San Diego.

So why don't you help her to stay in a hotel/hostel? I bet you/someone has enough cash to borrow.

Good point, but at the moment I am actually completely broke, and am not personally in a situation to borrow from anyone. I am definitely looking into finding a cheap place for her to stay, I know she has a bit of money with her, I just have no idea when this fellow is going to kick her out, and I'd rather reach out as much as possible to avoid any problems or extra costs she may or may not be able to afford.

Here is an alternate solution I know of some decent family hotels thirty dollars a night. Pretty safe. But that's last resort. I know there are done shady ones but there is a couple that's really good.

Thanks for all the positive support guys, not even one page in and people are willing to try and help, shows you how great this community is. I think I have something worked out for now, but thanks to everyone for offering their support, and taking the time to read this, I truly appreciate it.

TLHQ is somewhere in Queens, PM Hot_Bid or R1ch and see if they can help you out :O I can't put her up (I live in Rockland County) but if she needs a ride to an airport or wherever she needs to go around NYC to stay somewhere I am in the city Mondays and Wednesdays and don't mind giving her a ride.
