UPDATE Bossfight just released their second episode and gave me a huge shout out! YAY! BossFight.tv EP2

First off I'd like to give all props to Josh 'AntiPro' Engel and Mike 'mowhawkmike' Bisson for being such great sports. I got the chance to talk to Josh via email and skype prior to making this episode and was able to give him all my 'feedback' in person. Josh is a really awesome guy and I'm really looking forward to seeing where the BossFight.TV crew will take this show.

Episode 1: BossFight.tv
BossFight is a brand new show with ambitious goals. They build a custom set in a friends apartment (taking over the entire living room) and for having done just a few tests and one episode they are off to an awesome start.

In this episode I look at their audio setup and offer some recommendations for mics and XLR converters as well as discuss various set pieces.

I’d like to note that (somewhat ironically) as I gave feedback on their audio issues I, myself, had audio lag and overall audio clarity issues - as they say, the maids house is always dirty

Check out the episode and let me know what you think. I’ll be doing an episode every week so be sure to check back often.

About the show
Introduction post and video about the show. I started this series to offer constructive feedback on the production value of eSports events, casts, streams and shows. I wanted to do the show because it seems that during and shortly after an event there is always pitchforks and praise being hurdled around. In the den of all that noise it seemed that the messages, the feedback - the constructive feedback - was lost. I start this series to offer my own personal thoughts on how eSports shows and events can raise their production and also to highlight and dissect all the awesome things we are seeing from these same events and shows so that others can incorporate them.

Very nice.

Do you plan to move up and work on "bigger" names in E-sports?

Definitely, I have several shows planned looking at some of the bigger shows and have a multi-part series planned on NASL.

Liking the show so far. Just one thing I would like to see you show some good examples during the show. Like when you talked about the set show a shot from a real tv show that illustrates the concept.

It seems this is kind of what they are going for.

Also what do you think of a more relaxed approach like this (this is from a tv series on ABC tv). I think it works better given the target audience.

Also, it might be a good idea to contain this all to one thread instead of a new blog for every episode. Would help centralize the entire thing much better.

I think he should make a new bog for every episode and just index previous episodes at the bottom.

This is great stuff, interesting to watch.

@Fruscainte I was wondering if I should do that. Would you suggest just updating the top thread when I make a new episode and then adding my text in a comment?

@nekoconeco agree. For the next episodes I'm going to start using powerpoint to easily show images (hat tip to CSN_John for that one).

While that's just as nice, I would feel containing it would allow (and far more encourage) discussion for previous episodes and the show itself instead of keeping every thread for "just that episode" and all that.

Either way works, of course.

Just do what Mani said. There is nothing wrong with making a new blog post for each episode that is what blogs are made for. Make sure to link to previous episodes at the bottom of each new blog post.

The other issue is that blog posts don't get bumped up with each new comment so you wouldn't be featured in the sidebar at all.

I never meant to imply there was anything "wrong" with it =/ Please don't misconstrue what I was saying.

I was saying that keeping it in one thread might help centralize the community for his videos and generally make it a bit more organized overall. Either way works, because I'll be watching his shit no matter what.

@Primadog @mouzKaelaris Thanks!

I'm thinking my next will be discussing 'why caster couches are a terrible idea and how to fix them'.
