So if you have followed my stream or my blogs you will know that
1) I have switched to zerg
2) Ranked to Diamond 4v4's
3) Over all become a better player

I just now landed my Diamond 3v3's

soon i will be up there with the big hitters hopefully diamond 1v1s

sorry to burst your bubble but diamond in team games is nothing like 1v1, if you want to improve your 1v1 skill. then play 1v1

1v1 is harder but getting masters team games is also difficult mainly because you no longer play reactionary and instead just mass units and macro/micro better than the other team

Although, the way I see it...
2v2 Masters = Diamond
3v3 Masters = Platinum
4v4 Masters = Gold

Diamond 3v3 compared to Diamond 1v1 are WORLDS different.....

Playing in teamgames significantly improves your macro IMO... high level 2v2 is also very competitive as well, but a little different from the 1v1's ofc.

Before I took an arrow to my knee (ie started playing Skyrim) I was EU Masters 2v2, Diamond 3v3 and 4v4. And Gold 1v1 but only because I didn't really enjoy 1v1s as much as team games.

Nothing wrong with enjoying team games but it doesn't really equate into 1v1 skills. But CanucksJC has a good point, it helps with macro, and teaches you to scout and hold off cheese (if you are Protoss, no other race scouts lol).
