Today I will be presenting my ethnographic research about E-Sports to my Anthropology class. The class is Food, Gender, and Culture, and it counts as a women's studies course.

I'm going to expose myself as the nerd that I am. I am going to subject myself to the scrutiny of about 3 dozen pairs of unforgiving eyes. It makes me nervous. But I will stand proudly in front of them and profess to them the beauty of our industry, and its many flaws. I will happily accept their laughter or their approval with open arms. Because I am proud to be a nerd. I am proud of E-Sports. This is my passion, as it is to most of you.

Good luck! That sounds like fun. I like explaining esports to people, most of them have no idea it exists.

When the list of topics was distributed to the class I was asked "what are esports?" by just about everyone. I told them they'll see. I hope the subtle anticipation will assist in their acceptance of such a thing. But I know there will be people who shrug it off as some nerdy thing that doesn't matter.

gl hf, although I feel it will be like explaining general theory of relativity to a badger

Oh, that's a major part of my presentation. The presentation must focus on the course ideas of Food Gender and Culture. The culture part is almost entirely about Korea.

My presentation is complete. They laughed, but because it was funny. I pulled a Day[9], I made jokes about nerds and myself.

I got several compliments about how good it went, and a lot of the people found it very informative. For the food part I mentioned how players who travel don't have the time or ability to cook for themselves, so they must eat crappier food. But they make up for it, like EG works out all the time together.

Expect the entire ethnography to be posted in a blog by the 15th, should be like 7-12 pages long.
