EPTNote that will probably be a pretty biased article and most of what I'm about to write will not be based so much on facts. It will be more of my personal opinion and observations. (=you probably shouldn't copy this for an essay or something)

I will be using some Norwegian words/names in this text, but I will try to explain them. If you don't understand shoot me a PM.
I live in Fredrikstad, which is just two hours south of Oslo, the capital. Fredrikstad is, compared to other large cities in the world, a filthy little backwater village. But I think I've read that it is one of the biggest cities in Norway. Fredrikstad is not a good looking city, but it's not to bad either. It depends on which area of Fredrisktad you are in, from Torp's hills and nice big houses, to Nabbetorp and Lislebys narrow streets and smaller houses. Now don't get me wrong, Nabbetorp and Lisleby are both pretty acceptable places, but it's just that those places are the most "slum" areas, at least in my opinion.
My teacher told me before class finished that Fredrikstad has alot more drug addicts/abusers/alcoholics than the rest of Norway (except Oslo of course), and there are alot of immigrants here. Not that it's bad, except in Greåker Videregående Skole, which my stepsister attends, where the school os overflowing with people that don't care about learning to even speak understandable Norwegian, and would rather run around with baseball bats in the schoolyard and hit eachother than learning. Except from that one place I have never seen any trouble with immigrants. I have a lot of them as my friends and I think they are pretty awesome, but these are more that kind that actually learn something at school and don't get high almost every day.
We have had recent problems with a pyromaniac around Fredrikstad Brua (Fredristad Bridge) that lighting houses on fire (what else would a pyromaniac be doing), I don't know if they have caughnt him yet, but as far as I remember he has lit a total of four houses on fire. Three of them very close to one of my best friends, Pål's house (we are talking litarally the house next door).
Beggars can also be found in the center of Fredrikstad, although I would guess they would much rather be called street musicians, but they have no idea how to play an instrument and still they sit there playing the 2-3 chords over and over again. There is of course your regular beggar as well, sitting next to the parking ticket machines and outside grocery stores and such.
Now please, don't think Fredrikstad is a shit city, it has it's bad sides but what city doesn't. It may also seem like it's all bad because of the mood I'm in right now, but believe me, there's alot of good things here as well. We have videogame stores, a store with all kinds of random stuff, clothing stores, groceries (of course lol) banks and alot more stuff that would take to long to list up.
If you live in Fredrikstad and you are around 15/16-17/18 you would most likely either go to
Fredrik II Vederegående Skole, Greåker Viederegående Skole, Kalnes Videregående Skole, Glemmen Videregående Skole or Wang Toppidrettskole. Fredrik II is the school I attand at the moment, and it is the school that does;
realfag (Chemistry, physics, theretical math, biology etc)
samfunn, språk og økonomi (economy, psychology, international languages etc),
idrett (just like doing three additional years of basic school, except all the courses you can choose will be replaced with gymnastics)
and probably a few more.
I wont tell you what the other schools do because ethier I don't know, or it would be alot of text and would be extremely boring. If you really want to know PM me about it.
I could probably turn this into a freaking huge ass wall of text, but that would be really lame if you don't want to read it. So I will post this and see if people care at all, and if enough people found it atleast a little bit informative maybe I'll post a new one or edit it into this one.
