So sc2 coaching has been getting big recently, andI have watched my fair share of streamed sessions and it got me thinking.... i disagree with the method in which some of these sessions are done. I already enjoyed helping numerous people build/save on computer parts or software problems over on OCN so why not here in sc2?
THINGS YOU CAN EXPECT
- i articulate/speak fluent english without any accent despite being from NJ (and being ashamed of it...)
- one of the main reasons I am picking this up is watching people coach by playing the game for you. Not only do i feel that this is a poor method of learning but its highly ineffective especially when paying by the hour. My goals to hopefully fix things you do wrong currently or introduce concepts that you may not know in ways that works specifically for you FASTER then in ways currently done that i have seen. Not everyone has the same play style or mindset and while not everyone can be a pro anyone with any style can get into at least masters by perfecting his/her style and my intentions to have the best possible outcome for your game
- i think that i have a rather insightful view of the game that ANYONE of any level can learn from and rather then sit silently in the corner muttering about it i'm going to put my money where my mouth is (hopefully) not only that but i believe im able to convey this insight in a way to post more immediate understandings/progress. im good at this
HOW IT WORKS
- here is just an example. you would give me a replay hopefully depicting your skill/potential or problem and we will watch together I will prob make notes or point things out to you. After or during this replay we go over issues and attempt to fix them conceptually. After this we will play a game with myself or a friend of mine and hopefully we can mimic the scenario that best fits improving in this area be it multitasking or say as a zerg your improper allocation of units to handle harassment or drops and then we FURTHER delve into how that went. you will learn a lot the first time around i assure you and its free so it could go for a few hours baring our time restraints of course.
- specific strats for a more immediate improvement. lets say for example someone made fun of yo mama. now the only logical outcome is a sc2 match to determine whos mom is actually fat enough to sit around the house. lets specifically work on a few builds geared toward immediate success in a matchup and most likely you know the builds but the goal being to learn all the possible outcomes and situations that arise from said build and how to make it the most effective it can be. maybe the goal is to use a strat that puts your opponent at a disadvantage so you can macro safely namely a "macro cheese" or maybe its just a metagame build designed to trick. these are not things that make you better but they do take games on ladder and you can do them without any serious work on your current game most likely
i will be streaming the session on justin.tv/eosgreen as i hope to possibly make this a good ol part time hobby and id like a nice archive of content to maybe proceed from there

i have been top 8 masters as every race so it doesnt matter what your looking for i can most certainly help you. i dont mind helping lower level players (below plat?) but im kinda looking to see how i can help diamond/masters players primarily. this being said again it means no dif what league all help can/will be given just as long as you are actually here to learn and try to get better.

bonerjams was a good movie. i wish nick swordson did more backstory. why was there a boner? was boner soup unrelated? also why would someone put boners in a soup when everyone knows that dipping boners IN soup is preferable. so many questions....

i would love some help if you wouldnt mind i play toss at a mid diamond level and my ability to read builds needs some work my macro is decent enough so if you could help me understand builds and all that would be great

just msg me in game yo my dogs had surgery today to get the nuts and bolts if you will removed and im watching them to make sure they dont play too rough and open anything up.... today and most of tomorrow im going to be in my living room playing sc2 and trying not to go crazy dealing with them
also zick the #1 thing that keeps toss out of at least masters as a diamond player has gota be reading an opponents build specifically a zergs so i can 100 percent help you remedy this

He was really informative and helped my PvT immensely and even answered all my stupid questions about PvP and PvZ haha
He was not a back seat coach and he gave me alot of information on to way things were done that had never occurred to me
if you need some good help message him he isnt wasting your time with this and is honestly trying to help you succeed in what ever matchup you need help in

Hey I just had my first lesson. I am a gold zerg and sc2 is my first RTS. All I can say is I learned a ton in the first lesson and we didn't even play a game. (I know sounds weird right?) we talked alot about basic mechanics and how to macro better instead of just being told 'macro better'. I changed my inject method to the shift backspace method so that will take some work but it seems much faster in just a couple practice games. We also looked at some common timings and when to start making units to deal with them and how they differ off the different openings. I also learned some tips for dealing with multipronged drop harass in zvt but haven't got to practice it yet. We also talked alot about the whys behind certain strategys and how to execute/defend them.
tldr; great coaching. much different than the look over your shoulder and play the game for you type. explains the whys behind the decisions.

Just want to rep how much you've done for me. It took two days to go from Silver Terran and now I am Gold-facing Plat opponents. Feels good to get better, just got to keep coaching myself now to not make the obvious mistakes of not spending my money and expanding while keeping crisp macro.
Definite thumbs up to how one 30 minute lesson on solid sustainable play rocketed me up ladder.

Hey guys, I am a mid-masters terran and just had my first lesson. Coaching was done in a unique way where he discussed any questions I had and then analyzed a replay of mine to pick out issues in my play. He brings to the table many ideas that you normally wouldn't think about and provides you with tips on how to optimize your play regardless of build order. I would highly recommend him as a coach.

one was my younger brothers account that he just does 2v2 on and i would just do dumb builds in 1v1 on it and it just got masters accidentally.

Hello pn the behalf of Orange/Green I'd say this is the first time where I have something to REFER to. I've been coached multiple times as Protoss and everyone just wants to teach me 4 Gate, and I find that ... dumb. Not only is 4 Gate risky it doesn't always work.

I just finished my first lesson and it couldn't have gone better. This was my first time receiving lessons, and even as a low diamond player I felt like I completely re-learned match-ups which I thought I was confident in. I would recommend Orange as a coach to anyone willing to dedicate time and effort into becoming a better, more solid and focused player no matter what level. During my lesson he emphasized the importance of knowing your scout timings and learning how to optimally react to your opponents build. Furthermore, Orange made clear the difference between builds that will get you the occasional win on the ladder, and solid builds that if executed well enough, will ensure you move up the ladder over time. Overall Orange was a terrific, well-educated coach who helped me spot weaknesses in my play as well as showed me how to resolve them. The lesson moved at a good speed, and there was no pressure to break things off early or pay for more time.
