I voted "no", although i wish there was something in between. I think you improved a lot over the year and you did a fine job at this event.

It might be just personal preference and not a "this is wrong" kind of thing but this is what i do not like about your casting:

-very, very poor game knowledge. I'm going to give JP as a very good example of how someone can get from zero to hero. He worked extra hard to actually learn the game, by playing (JP and friends for example). I'm gona be a dick and say that now, after more then one year, i aspect a full time caster to be high diamond random level player minimum. The key part being the "random" (on NA).

-i'm ok with "enthusiastic" casting but, to much screaming for me. This was especially evident when you partnered with DjWheet. At every storm, baneling explosion, etc there was a TON of screaming. This is actually made worse by the lack of knowledge (acting like it's a crucial event when in fact it is not even close) Some screaming makes it entertaining, a lot of screaming makes me turn the sound off.

You are going to be a great, great caster in the near future i'm sure, just keep killing nerds on bnet :p

I thought that you were really good, and I really like you and Mr. Bitter together. I will admit that i'm not a fan of solo casting in general so I don't really watch your youtube videos very much, but you always impress me at MLG's. Keep it up

I disagree wholeheatedly with this. I can't think of any instance where this was apparent. But if you strongly believe this, provide examples of what you're talking about here, so that Husky knows what you mean. This is a feedback thread after all.

Well allow me to counter then. Husky doesn't often guess what is coming next, as many other casters do (based on what you'd call game knowledge), and are incorrect as often as they are right. Husky paints broad strokes with his knowledge, talks about the metagame on the various servers (something I really like when casters do, because I only get to see the trends on NA.). I like that he doesn't beat us over the head with technical stuff.

I spose, but if you just wanted to say that you didn't like Husky's casting without qualifying your dislike, then you should have posted in the MLG feedback thread and not here.

I like Husky's casting style. I think that casters are really hung up on analysis, and while that's all good and well, I don't think it's necessary for tournament games. Casters like Day[9], Artosis and MrBitter are all great analysis casters but good hype casters are tough to come by. This is especially true when you consider that most of the SC2 audience has a relatively short attention span, so the type of casting style you see in hockey, soccer or football isn't as strong in SC2. I think that Husky fills an excellent niche in the casting styles of the casters and is best paired with a caster with strong game knowledge.

I think the greatest strength of Husky's casting style is his humility. He's capable of laughing at himself and isn't afraid of self-deprecating humour. This allows him to laugh with his co-caster and the two casters almost feed off each other if Husky is paired with a good caster. I find this to be in contrast with most of the IPL casters (except CatsPajamas) who I think have an awkward casting style where they make fun of each other and have tense moments. The energy of an IPL cast seems very tense compared to any Husky cast, which is a lot of the reason why I like Husky's casts so much.

I would also like to comment on Husky's game knowledge. A lot of people say that Husky has low game knowledge and as such, he makes a lot of mistakes in his analysis. I think this used to be the case on his YouTube channel, but it is definitely not the case in live casts where he tends to hype up the moment and make short-term predictions so that the other caster can comment on long-term play. This dynamic is very obvious and strengthens the energy between the two casters. This is in contrast to the NASL casters who try to make high-level analysis commentary, but who clearly fall flat thanks to racial balance or low understanding. The job of the caster is one of the toughest and most demanding, and they might not have time to crunch through replays and play games like the viewers do. I don't fault casters for having a lower understanding than the players, but it is very frustrating when they make obviously poor predictions. Husky avoids this ugly casting style very elegantly and I don't think these types of analyses are necessary in every cast because the viewer can often figure it out by looking at the production tab if they play enough.

Overall Husky, you are a 5/5 caster and I hope to see you at more events in the future.
