more electrorap/hip hop
remember linkin park's "hybrid theory"? legendary album, but they were mostly downhill from there. but with electro music (house, techno, dubstep) getting so popular, i hope we'll get to see more mashing of genres.

Just listen to Foreign Beggars, they've been doing it for years. its off a mixtape, so its not supposed to be a polished track. i will however agree with you, but still, i like that he's trying to do something very new. i'm not too familiar with any "mainstream" artists who have used an untouched dubstep track as a "sample".

It literally takes 20 minutes to make a catchy backtrack once you have a decent rapper. Europe has been doing great rap/electronic stuff forever now: + Show Spoiler +

Europe has been doing great rap/electronic stuff forever now: + Show Spoiler + its quite the status quo. in fact, lots of mainstream artists right now rose to fame because of mixtapes (essentially taking someone else's track, and writing your own lyrics to it). its sort of like doing covers, but not really because if the lyricist is good, then you really appreciate the track. of course, you can't sell mixtapes and make money off of it because you're essentially infringing upon copyright, but you can distribute it for free (if i learned this correctly from my music production class).
