I think was thinking about theStc and how he ranks among notable Terrans. While at it I also did it for Zerg and Protoss. The number of notable Terrans is staggering compared to the other races. Some of the Zerg/Protoss guys are not even Code A/S.

You forgot Hero man... How could you forget 'liquid's own

sage JYP and hero are top3 Protoss hand down, everysingle code S P atm are just bad including HuK. Creator is ok ish bc most of his games were PvT and the T just played terrible.
coca doesnt deserved 4th slot on zerg. That slot now should either go to leenock or some non-korean zerg like Stephano, Dimaga or Morrow.
ganzi 7th slot for terran also horribly wrong. If you pay attention all of his games lead him to code S was 1/1/1 abusive and retarded all-in. Even after the patch, the kid still proxy and all in a tons. Mean while clide at 20th place is just underestimating, his games were incredibly executed in term of mechanic. Its just a matter of time for him to get his game sense up to top top level.

MMA over Polt? When he's 1-6 against the guy and Polt has had much more success in the GSL overall? It isn't Polt's fault he doesn't get a free ride to foreign tournaments for being "Boxer's son." Alive is also rated too highly. The guy loses to foreigners all the time. So does Nada but Nada gets the benefit of the doubt since he usually makes it out of the code S group stages, something alive has yet to do. Your zerg list is pretty good, although I still think Check is terrible. As for protoss...your list is as good as anyone else's I guess. Considering the state of PvT and PvZ in the past couple months and how the patch was supposed to fix 4gate vs 4gate, it's basically a crapshoot for who the best protoss are. I'm not ready to write off the old guard of protoss like MC, HongUn, Genius, etc., but there's no denying their terrible results recently. On the other hand the new generation like JYP, Hero, Oz, Sage, etc. have shown lots of promise and innovative styles, but none of them have the accomplishments or well-roundedness to be sure of any future success.

MC back on the B-Team? Wasn't he like the SC2 protoss god?

i think happy and clide are too low. clides TvT against mvp in the ro32 in october (even though he lost) shows how well he understands the game, and happy's recent results in the GSTL and code S should move him up.
oz/twilight has this one run through code A. his noninclusion doesnt bother me until he continues this run next GSL
MMA also has the distinction that comes from attending more foreign tournaments, and MMA's been doing better more recently.

MMA is inconsistent, but when he plays his best he deserves that spot. Can anyone else 3-1 Nestea and MVP?
Also on a raw skill level I think MKP is better than polt, but that's just me. I think his play is a lot more cleaner, but he also takes more risks and his results show that.
I'll agree with some others and say alive is too high up there, taeja deserves to be ahead of him. I really don't understand what he has ever done to deserve that spot. Supernova has also really impressed me lately. He's been playing much better than he ever has. Every other lower spot is debatable and I can't really argue. I could see them performing at around the same level on average. Happy is highly underrated though.
And no way would I ever rate killer that high. If you had your life on the line putting up Oz/MC vs. Killer who would you pick? MC might be playing bad, but on occasion he does show some really good play. I'm sure he'll be back, you don't win 2 GSLs as protoss and then disappear into code B.
For zerg it's hard to argue. I think curious is better than july, but we'll see what he can do in code S (if he makes it). There's a reason why curious is played every GSTL match but july isn't. I also don't think revival is that good.

Seeing this makes me optimistic for foreigners in international SC2 events.
Maybe its just the state of Protoss right now, but I don't think there's anyone on your Toss list that top foreigners can't contend with.
Nestea, DRG, and Losira are obviously the big three for Korean Zergs. I don't think there's a foreigner in the world that is ever a favorite against these three.
I do think there are foreigners out there that can go toe to toe in a BoX with DRG and Losira, though.
And then I look at the Korean Terrans and I'm like
"fff, these guys are all so invincible."
|
eh the list is based on actual results, not current momentum.
Guys in Code B or mostly play GSTL don't count much. They could have a good performance once in a while but they could also drop off in the future. Look at guys like ST_Squirtle. While Jjakji and Taeja are good, they're relatively newcomers while Alive has been solid for a long time now. I'm not sold that the new guys will become stable powerhouses.
MMA loses to Polt but fares better vs most other players in TvT and TvZ. He doesn't need to worry about Protoss.
But anyway, MrBitter is right. Korean Terrans are just so solid in all areas. Foreigners will have mountains to climb. Even the #21 Terran caused so much damage and the #2 and 4 are going to the next MLG.

Forgot Sen and Stephano!
And LoSira > DRG!1!

cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide is way too low.. should be 7 right after ryung

I get that these sorts of lists are strongly affected by opinion, but what nonsensical, fairy-tale, la-la land logic lead you to put fucking Genius anywhere near the top of the protoss list?
