Hiyo, I want to buy a game from Steam to play as a break from my normal intense games that is 1) fun 2) casual 3) not too taxing on my POS old computer 4) ..innovative?. Suggestions please. Thanks.

Machinarium!
at times frustrating but all the rest of the time an amusingly cute indie puzzle game with great art and an epic soundtrack!

worth a shot especially if you want a change from your regular .. intense gaming.

You should play Machinarium. A neat puzzle indie game.

Edit: OMG I can't believe the previous poster and I had the exact same idea in mind. This is fate, OP.

TF2 Its free and i honestly cant take that game seriously cause of all the cartoon graphics so its a win-win.

*Edit- Also i forgot to mention its a fun game you can be a pyro and just run around with the flame thrower, or if you feel like Arnold Swachzneger be the mini gun guy or be a medic and just heal people. Theres lots of classes!
Plays against every MU with nexus first.

HUMBLE BUNDLE!!!! Buy frozen Synapse for average price and you score some sweet relaxing games. IIRC they give you steam keys.

Then again, I consider most non-competitive games casual and relaxing, so take with a grain of salt I guess.

EDIT: Link to Humble Bundle

portal 2 was on sale for like 15 bucks yesterday and for 17 you can get portal 1 and 2, so you could check that out.
Bastion is also supposed to be really good.

Portal and Portal 2 are definitely great games if you haven't played them already. Frozen Synapse screws with your mind...

Altitude, they're hosting a BW tournament, and the demo is free and I think it's expanded and unlimited for the entire game.

Team Fortress 2 without a question. Free, addictive (about 100 hours in the past two months for me), and with a gigantic playerbase.

Team Fortress 2 has something for everyone, and is just a very pleasing and relaxing game to play.

Machinarium is good. Point and click puzzle games can be frustrating but it is rewarding as well and I haven't even cheated yet :O

TF2 is definately too intense, and I've already played portal 1 & 2 (portal 2 was so much better than I thought it would be). I'll check out the other games suggested so far tomorrow.

Try your best to not resort to it, makes it even more rewarding :D
The first time i played through it, i had a friend who had gotten way further than me already so whenever i got stuck, i vented my frustration for long enough and he gave me an ambiguous hint and i'd be like AAAAHHHH, this is so obvious!, several minutes later
:D

I'm gonna have to say Terraria. It's got kind of a Minecrafty vibe to it, but a little bit more combat oriented. It's just good, laid back fun, especially if you have some friends to play it with.

Minecraft is too intense for me.

I watched the saw movies with buckets of laughter but those damn creepers and skeletons in the caves scared me out so much I had to turn monsters off.
