Emon_ 3925 Posts October 05 2011 06:20 GMT #1 Blue in Green - Miles Davis Almost Blue - Chet Baker Hello TL! Got any similar songs to the ones above? Those two are all I've found. Slow temp, cool jazz from the 50's-60's, preferably longer ones (5+min) and no vocals

You could be referring to Jazz in general, (which is a huge genre), jazz ballads, this specific sound, whatever. Just tryina help you out - if I missed the point, lemme know and I can grab some different stuff. If you're just looking for jazz in general, I'd recommend checking out The Official Jazz-Thread. I can also tell you some names of my personal favorites - Joshua Redman, Terence Blanchard, Art Blakey, The Bad Plus, Dizzy Gillespie, I can go on for a while haha.

As for what specifically I'm looking for - it's slow tempo cool jazz from the 50's, preferably longer ones (5+ min) and anything that sounds like it. Something to relax to after a hard days work. If you think of any other songs, I'd love to hear them. The kind of blue video above is blue in green in OP (:

iMarshall Norway190 Posts October 05 2011 12:43 GMT #6 Definitely check out Bill Evans' 'Explorations' and 'Portrait in Jazz'. Also, though a lot more recent than the 50s, Keith Jarrett has some great, smooth songs.
