 i can't give you advice, cause you're better than me... but there's one thing that could MAYBE help you, i'm not sure though... if you go to a higher note, sing it as if you would go to a lower note. imagine you would go lower. it makes your voice much less tensed and sounds fuller. but maybe you're already doing it perfectly, i really can't tell. you're doing it good enough so i can't tell whether you tense up. look at this as a new thing to try. my teacher in school told me this... and it helped me tremendously. just try and see if it's helpful. if it isn't helpful, fine. i suck compared to you. good performance | ||

I sing classical music myself, so I can't comment too much on your performance. I think it sounds pretty good. There's a few moments where you're a little under tone, but that will improve as you develop your musical hearing ability. The thing with pop is, you can get away with pretty much any style of voice as long as you pick a song that suits your voice. Your voice sounds a little 'breathy' to me, which is fine for songs like this. Most pop songs for men are high pitched as this is what listeners are used to. The songs are usually for tenor / high baritone voice. However, 95% of men are low baritones / bases, so singers need to learn all kinds of (bad) vocal techniques to be able to reach the high notes in those songs. This often has a negative effect on the sound of your voice. Also, this often puts great strain on your throat and can lead to soarness. I would advise against singing in those high regions where it's uncomfortable for you. Now, how do you find songs that are comfortable? Sing songs sung by women, and then sing them one or two octaves lower. Hooray for singing! | ||

I don't know too much about singing, but I'll throw in my two cents. I feel you could make more of a difference between the stronger points and lower points of the song. The volume for the most part was fine, but I didn't feel as much of an oomph at the peak of the song. Like when Josh sings it and he gets to that peak I shit myself because its like BAM, right in your face. But seriously man great performance! | ||
