First blog here. So, there's this thing called Akinator that I found recently. It predicts characters with astonishing success. I saw it guessing a lot of obscure characters and decided to give it a go myself.
I started off with something pretty easy. Not a main character or anything, but not obscure. Needless to say, he got it first try.
I tried again, and he got it easily.
Not bad, Akinator. Not bad.
Him getting this first try really caught me off guard. This character has been around for 2 days, but I guess it's been spammed to hell for those two days so it isn't too surprising.
So, yeah. He's smart.
By this point I was desperate to beat Akinator. So I thought of something really obscure, something that he could never get. This is where I snapped.
GAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH WHYYYYYYYYYY HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET THAT FUCK YOU GOD DAMMIT. I had to go lower and even more obscure. To the very depths.
I finally did it. I beat it. Thanks to FXOz.
But, yeah this was just my first try. Since then I've beaten it several times, but man is this thing impressive. Very good fun.

It blew my mind when it guessed my family members, it knew when I was cheating when I picked a potato, and it guessed correctly when I was thinking of myself.

Confound you, Akinator.
But, yeah, it couldn't guess Penance and a couple other I forget right now.

Lol. Congrats man. I beat Akinator once with Dwight Howard's son Braylon Howard.
Also, note: Often victories are misleading. You really have to answer the questions correctly to truly beat the Akinator. T-T that's what's so FRUSTRATING about Akinator....

Yea, often i try to beat him by picking some random person that nobody knows, and on every question i'm like "i dont know....".
Gotta find someone that you know all of the answers to but who is also really obscure.

EDIT: Tried a couple more times, he got Penance on a 3rd try. Akinator does indeed get smarter.

I used my dick as a character. He got it =[ but the end result was pretty funny.

HOW THE HELL DID HE GUESS LIQUID TYLER.
WTF HE KNOWS EVERYTHING!

You have to think about the algorithm if you want to beat it. It's a database of people that have been guessed by people using Akinator before. Think about it. What kind of demographic is using the site? Mostly internet savvy, 15-30 year old males with nothing better to do. You may think that you're being clever by choosing programers, or little known porn stars, or obscure anime characters, but those are exactly the kind of things that EVERYONE searches for when they try to think of something "hard to guess".
I stumped him before with things like - obscure New Zealand athletes - characters from old daytime soap operas - children's book authors (not JK Rowling ffs)

So they go to something Akinator would know even less about, and the cycle goes on and on.

the easiest way to beat him is not to pick what you think is obscure, but to pick characters that are similar.
for example you can go simpsons character and pick rod/tod and he will probably give you millhouse
unlike trying to game him by going for things that you have no control over, like popularity, you can beat him by choosing 1 of X amount of people who all answer the same to his set of questions.
ok rod and todd is bad because they dont have glasses, but you get the idea. one of the ancillary female characters is probably easier as lisa doesnt have glasses

there we go SMASHED IT.
there is no way it would have guess my character was Poi Poi Maya's pet poring from ragnarok the animation.
|
Hah, couldn't get Ramjet. It got really good guesses though.
Beating this thing isn't anything special. I've figured you out, you hear me Akinator?!
EDIT: Couldn't get BitByBit. I thought it was on to me when it asked "Does the audience hate this character?" but it came up with SaviOr instead.
|
One thing for sure, it knows all the MOBA champions.
|
I got Midas when trying to get BitByBit. -_- None of the questions that pointed to BBB came up though and I never got the "does the audience hate this character".

I stumped it with Gawain, a knight of the round table.
edit: And stumped it with my second play, Ulysses Everett McGill from "O Brother, Where Art Thou".
