Loser777 1931 Posts September 09 2011 09:07 GMT #21 My own experience is that SC2's 3D engine as opposed to BW's sprites suffers a lot more when compressed in video. The first thing that I noticed from your screenshots was not the abundance or lack of information in either one of them--it was that it is much harder to simply make out what is happening in the SC2 screenshot vs. the BW one.

If you like 240p resolution and no information while listening to Korean casters, knock yourself out. I myself am going to go watch a nice 720p stream with production tabs up, and Day9 casting.

As for too much information that is true, you can see all things exactly, how much units they have, and most importantly WHAT THEY ARE CURRENTLY PRODUCING. In SCBW, if eggs are busy hatching and they turn out to be drones instead of lings everyones goes AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH NO CHOGOLING in SC2 its, he is not making zerglings(and we will see drones pop in about 10s). Its funny yet ironic, how technology has devolped yet the excitement value goes down as a result of that technology advancement.
