Going to try casting

So to introduce myself my name is Tony, AKA UBERtoSS/Ynot. Protoss player, top masters on both eu and na. If this sounds narcissistic, it isn't meant to be and I really just want to pursue a passion. I have always been told I have a "radio voice" If I had to compare my voice to someone, it sounds like cats_pajamas if you have ever listened to him. I think he is a fantastic caster, much like day 9. I love Day 9's enthusiasm when he casts a game. Anyways, I always wanted to to try casting, if i had the voice for it, the knowledge of the game, why not give it a try? I may get shot down and burn in flames terribly but I will regret my decision more if i never try it. So after the mumbo jumbo of my background and trying to make myself look cooler than i really am here to my point.

How should I go about beginning a casting attempt? I know a few really good players that i could potentially do casts for, maybe i could throw some money to run some tourney's and get the players to play that way. Should I set up a youtube account for my videos? Whats the best way to capture the stream, i currently use twitch.tv.

I have a lot of questions but ultimately what is the best way to get started? I would love to give it my shot and possibly help out e-sports even more than some people already do. If anything, it will be a fun experience and bring some smiles to viewers faces. Anways, thanks for taking the time to read this and any input would be greatly appreciated. Best advice is from Day[9] is just go fucking do it. You will probably start off horrible but just like with anything else in life, the more time and effort you put into something the more likely you are to achieve what you want in the end.

Hm, how about casting on your stream to a few people and getting feedback from them before trying to expand to the more public domain? Nothing wrong with spending a little time polishing your skills.

I agree. I think I will do host a KOTH with some people and get ready to see how good it turns out.

I am going to start by doing some koth's for some cash to get some player out there and to just test what i got. If i suck oh well, the players will be earning money.

the best way to get started is to just start. don't ask permission from anyone and just cast what you want to cast. look at what jp did. he didn't know anything about sc2 or bw and just decided one day he wanted to become a caster. of course, at first people didn't like him but he kept doing great things for the community (obviously helped by his position with mlg) ie sotg and now everybody loves that guy. he never asked anyone what he should or shouldn't do. he just did. and now look at him!

good luck and you will get a LOT of criticism when you first start but if you love it that will not stop you. don't get discouraged and if it bothers you at all, don't read feedback about you. the vocal minority of loudmouth haters is always going to bear its head and you just can't get too hung up on that.
