Hey TL;
I work at a local Subway and I often get "regular" customers. A few of these people happen to be people from my school, but not people that I'd at all consider my friends.
Why is it that people find ask you for things just because they've seen you? I see this guy whos name I don't even know, and he keeps heckling me to give him free food and goods just because we go to the same school. If it weren't for the fact that I could give him anything, he would probably be a huge dick to me and socially exclude me anyways just because I like playing StarCraft and not sports. (Add on top of that the fact that I actually keep up with my grades.)
Now yes; I'm only in high school. But as a senior, this shit seems like it's gone on long enough.
Yea, I play StarCraft and I'd say I'm somewhat a nerd. But I'm proud to stand up for my beliefs and like Day9 once said- there's nothing cooler than being passionate about the things you love.
So am I wrong for not wanting to be cool and fitting in by giving people shit they don't deserve? :s

No, you're not wrong. Those people are just douchebags who are trying to use you for some free food. If they don't even know you or are friends with you, they don't need to be asking for free shit.

i have this happen all the time since my parents own a grocier store and i work at, they come in all like give me some free food man. im like the fuck?

In school people used to ask me for answers to the test. I'd give then wrong answers, and they would get a zero on the test. They never asked me again. :D My friends would ask for help when they didn't understand something, and I was always happy to help them.
If someone is a friend they don't just show up when there's free stuff to have. I'm sure you know that. And if they aren't your friend, why do you care about telling them no? I would literally laugh at someone asking me for free stuff just because they go to the same school I do.
If by heckling you mean he hangs around the counter and argues with you about giving him free stuff and won't leave you alone, talk to your manager about it and see if you can get him kicked out for loitering/harassment. Otherwise just ignore him.

1) Simply explain that you can't give away free stuff or you'll lose your job. 2) Give him the free stuff. 3) Ignore him.

Asking for hookups was pretty normal at the high school I went to. It was done usually in a joking manner, however. You can pretty much just ignore them, they are just being silly.

I had the exact same situation in high school, working at a gas station which was frequented by a lot of people from my school, and they would ask for free shit, and i would tell them straight up to go to hell, not the right way to do it i know, but people get the point when your honest with them, brutally honest, not a pushover.
