As for bringing sponsors to the scene in general (unrelated to EG sponsors specifically), it's all part of a temporary esports bubble that can really burst at any point in the near future. How's that a long shot? They get a lot of sponsors because they bring in the big ticket players and have proven over time that they know how to acquire talent that draws eyes and makes sponsors happy. Their business is set up against the bubble by virtue of having several games in which the team competes. Not only that, EG as a business essnetially provides an advertising vehicle for these sponsors because they compete in many different games, increasing the team and advertiser presence. EG SC2 can weather losing a few sponsors because the team can support it through funding thru other ventures
theyve shown a business model that works, and their aggresive signings will ultimately bring much needed change in rules and force player salaries up.
