So let me start with the fact that our country is close to Italy which is famous for their pizza. So our country got inspired by that food and the result is that you see more pizza restaurants in a town than shops and i am not even kidding.

I live in a village so if i go to the next closest town you will find there 6 pizza restaurants.(thats how many me and my friends managed to find) but there are probably even more and exactly 4 shops where you can buy various things from drinks and snacks the usual stuff.

I have no idea how all 6 restaurants manage to get monthly profit but hey i guess that says one thing , the people here love pizza.

Now to the point and reason why i made this post in the first place:

I hate pizza at one point and love it on the other. It took me a while to pick my favorite pizza restaurant but when i did i never went to a different one they were that good at making them.

So you ask yourself why do you hate it? Well when i am done eating it all comes back to haunt me , i feel so full that i think i am going to blow up yet pizza is the only kind of food i would still eat even if i am full because it would be a shame to leave it.

Also next day i feel so shit about the fact that i ate pizza because its fast food and is unhealthy and adds up on the weight.

The thing is i am on a diet to lose weight and i dont eat pizza every day more like 1x a month for a treat .But i think even that is a mistake because i feel so bad about eating it and thinking that i gained so much weight yet i just love the taste of it.

Maybe i should just eat half a dish next time instead of a full one.I dont think i can completely stop eating pizza.

And before you all ask yes i ate pizza yesterday and i feel shit right now , i am about to go for a run to get it all out of my system.

thanks for reading.

Real Italian pizza isn't fast food, it's just food. It's just bread, tomatoes, and cheese. I only feel bad about eating in other countries because they load it up with fat and sugar.

I like my good 'ol American chicken bacon ranch pizza, or even barbecue steak pizza. Yeah, it's horrible for you, but it's just so good.

It should be illegal to call it pizza unless it has at least 4 different kind of meat toppings on it.

In the city I live in, you can buy a ~$1500 Pizza. It's 2 week pre-order and has kobe beef, truffels, gold leaves and alot of other expensive stuff. I don't think anyone's ever bought it.

Swedish pizzas are pretty shitty. Putting so many different ingredients and so much fat on a pizza is a way to make up for the bad produce being used. Thankfully for the pizzerias, most people have shit for taste so they can gladly live their entire lives eating crap like that believing it's the most delicious food there is.

You aren't going to gain or lose weight based on eating pizza one time a month. Your body doesn't work like that. It doesn't just decide "oh well you ate an extra 1000 calories today I guess I'm going to gain weight." It's a long term process. Fix your daily diet before you worry about pizza once a month.

Dislike is just your own eating habit, it isn't the pizza's fault at all. I love pizza so much that on battle.net people often see me leaving saying "AFK gonna go make/eat some pizza!" I make my own to make sure it is healthy or I go to my favorite restaurant where it really is healthy. Tabor Pizzeria. Best restaurant in my neighborhood.

edit: I used to have lactose intolerence as well. Then I ate more pizza (For realz :D)

I'm sort of on a diet as well but i eat pizza everyday, and still lose weight. I make it myself though, that way it tastes better and it's healthier. Make it with little cheese and make it thin and with as little meat as possible if you want it to really be healthy.

I plan to go from 95kg to 80kg in about 5months eating pizza everyday, and so far i'm on track.

Also, my Starcraft name is "iLovePizza"

Eat pizza slowly and stop the second you're full. Not full as in "oh i cant eat anymore" but full as in "i'm not hungry anymore".

Scandinavian pizza is kinda shit. It's not really Italian pizza it's just Turkish pizza because all the people who make it are turkish immigrants, which is fine for some i guess, but to me it tastes more like kebab. It's also very unhealthy. Dont know how it is in Slovenia though.

So, if you have the time then make it yourself, and with as little cheese as possible. Also, it's fun as fuck to make pizza, especially if you get frustrated in Starcraft, just make a pizza! :D

I wish i was Italian, but i've been to italy more times than i can count Nah, i just really love Italian food, especially pizzas, and i love cooking as well. Planning to buy a pizza oven once i get a place that has room for it.

Yea the dough can be hard to make, but i think i've found the right combo of flour (i use 2 kinds) which is definitely the key to a good dough. I also grow my own tomatoes that i use to make the sauce, at least in the summer time.

Here's my take on the situation.

Here in New Jersey it's actually quite common to find pizza (no surprise there), but 95% of all the pizzerias you go to will serve you the same crappy cardboard-tasting crust with a sugary pasta sauce and greasy cheese on top. Honestly, I prefer Dominos pizza to the generic pizzeria, because at least what I'm getting is consistent and not as greasy. So growing up, I was never really a big fan of pizza.

When I went to Italy a few years ago I had some pretty good pizza, though technically it's more of a "tomato pie" rather than the American style pizza. Basically it's a crispy thin-crust pie with fresh tomato, spices (basil, oregano, pepper) and just a modest amount of cheese, and not greasy at all. For a while, I assumed this pizza was only available in Europe, until I started looking around NJ/NY for some more authentic options.

So far, I've only found one or two pizzerias nearby that make "tomato pies", and they are SO GOOD, perhaps even better than what I had in Italy. I suppose a lot of it comes down to the fact that the Italian family that owns the place has some very old brick ovens, and they actually know how to make a delicious sauce. I'm not sure what sort of options you have in Slovenia but here is the website of my favorite pizzeria so you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about. I feel like this style of pizza is also much healthier since it has less cheese and grease so you should really look around for something like it.

Most bad ones around here usually put lots of sugar in the tomato sauce too.

Pizzas are like the cigars for food. So many different flavors, and you must savor each one.

I mean, the good ones cost around the same huh? xD

How are you gonna come off saying people have shit for taste? Taste is like THE most subjective thing in the world.

Also, I don't know where you get your pizzas, but they don't sound like the ones I'm eating. I just like alot of different meats on mine (and preferably garlic as well).

Agreed. Most of the pizzas here are really shitty. The quality of the ingredients are so bad that if you would never use them yourself in any kind of dish. There are some Pizzerias though that are pretty good and not just the usual crap but it's rare to find. And it's disgusting seeing how the majority of people gobble up these crappy pizzas like there isn't anything better out there

I've got some bad news for you. There was a big blind pizza taste test that happened and Dominos lost. Dead last out of many competitors. The result? They changed their recipe - and the new recipe has to be as unhealthy as the rest because it tastes just so damn good.

I think pizza is nice. I ordered some Dominoes during MLG finals, which gave me something else to do during the downtime/lag. But I find that with pizza, once you find a place that you like, you should just stick with it. I almost always get the same thing every time from doninoes when I order, as well :D

Well as I used to say before they changed the recipe, "If you don't give a shit about what kind of pizza you eat.." It was really bad.

In any case, I agree with you, I was not arguing for the health benefits of Dominos but instead trashing all the other independent local pizzerias since they are inconsistent and usually disgusting. Fortunately, there is a delicious restaurant for "tomato pies" not far from where I live, I'm willing to bet it's much healthier than Dominos

Ah, the biggest problem with dieters. You will gain weight *the next day* but your body actually keeps the food, and doesn't turn it immediately into storage fat. This obsession for people to weigh themselves everyday when their diet isn't 100% consistant is pretty stupid.

Well Italian style pizza is usually a thin crust, brick oven baked with real mozzarella cheese. Looks sorta like this.

I like this pizza due to the thin crust, somewhat sweeter sauce (if Roma tomatoes are used), and the additional touch of basil. However, the crust is flimsier and so it's hard to eat with your hands. You need to use a fork and knife.

Being from New York, I prefer the New York style pizza.

It's a much thicker crust, so that we eat it folded in two. The cheese is not fresh, but it has a much more elastic property that makes eating pizza so much more satisfying. I prefer to have it well done, so everytime I take a bite, there's a satisfying crunch to it. This is the pizza I grew up with, and it simply hits the spot everytime I crave for it.

You eat pizza because you want to get fat?
How does it feel knowing you wasted another 3 seconds of your life reading this again?

Most fast food pizza's have sugar in the dough, especially the american kind.

Outside of Italy, I've never seen decent pizza in Europe. I'd be a lot more prone to expect sugar in the dough in northern European pizza than anywhere in the U.S.

For reference, Pizza Hut, the largest American pizza chain, does include trace amounts of sugar (less than 2% by weight) in a few of their types of dough, but not the most common types.

Most pizza places use flour, leavening, salt, and water in their dough, and that's about it.

Edit: The big dietary issue with pizza here is that the dairy industry has been pressuring the big chains to increase their cheese portions. The best pizza places use a lot less cheese, except in Chicago, where they make a different style that tends to go very heavy on it.

Edit 2: Authentic tomato sauce does have a sweet flavor because fresh tomatoes have sugar in them. However, such sauce is not normally artificially sweetened.

I like my pizza not from Dominos, not from Pizza Hut, not from Little Ceasers, and definitely not from Godfathers. God these are all terrible pizza's. Give me some stone oven cooked pizza any day and I will be happy.

I love my pizza with too many toppings that literally falls or crumbles when cut from the rest.
Being part Italian, I've never had the chance to get to Italy, but I yearn for their sweet pasta delicacies like no tomorrow.

I would love to try that pizza if I had money to throw, sounds delicious.

Any mention of Pizza Hut and Dominos does not count as real pizza. Not even close...
