So I have seen so many people make a smurf account or even there real account and make it a pro players name. There are so many egidras I am sure it would make our head spin. If someone that reads this has a pro players name as there real account on sc2 I just want to know why?
Do you really think someone is going to think you are him ? (and your in gold?)
Do you think u will just get respect? (and your in gold?)
I mean If your paying tribute to that player add some sort of letters after the name.
I guess I just dont understand, the whole point of your account is to show originality and really if your trying to be pro and do something in esports your account / image is trying to sell yourself really to other players and also your skill level. I guess I just dont understand nor never will, maybe as I said someone that has one of these "pro smurf names" will explain there selves because I am very curious of it.
I was gonna make this a post but i guess its not that big of a deal I am just curious as I said. NO I am not looking for 10000 posts on here, I do not make blogs for posts. Just telling you this info because of my last blog got a lot of assumptions on it with out me being able to defend myself..

Personally I think its quite dumb to name yourself after a pro using their exact nick. I have faced oGsMC in masters league on EU - obviously not him since he was bad and not even a protoss but that is besides the point. Isn't part of the fun of playing any online game to use your own internet identity? I get smurf accounts, I have more than one myself but they have nicks which I have previously used or things a long that line. I don't think any of the pros would have the attitude that its a tribute to them rather an '.... k' approach to the whole affair.
Use your own nick its you not someone you fanboy and don't even know....

Yeah, there's a ton of EGIdra, almost always Protoss. I don't really get it myself but.. yeah, I don't know. Would be cool if an EGIdra could come in and explain what's up.

obviously they use their own nicks on their real names. at least 90% are smurfs and they really don't give a damn what name they use

That's the answer here man. They don't care, they have a smurf account to do cheesy and stupid crap on and other than that, each person has an individual reason. But the best real answer you can get here is they don't give a shit.
