So it was roughly one week ago I received my first ban from TL. I'm not proud of it, but I thought it would be good to reflect upon it, along with commenting on some other details surrounding the ban. + Show Spoiler [Blog that got me banned] +
Honestly, I was extremely upset about a lot of things, some of which I touched on in one of my comments below. My work schedule has not allowed me to play much SC2 recently thanks to a lame commute. When I do get to play, I hate getting all-in'd. I know it's part of the game, and frankly, one of the aspects of my own play I need to work on is defending the early one base all-ins.
The particular all-in I lost to was an SCV/Marine all-in, maybe roughly around the 5-6 minute mark, just didn't have enough to hold it, and for whatever reason I lost it. I usually get pretty upset about losses, but I know I'm not the best player so I can usually get over them fairly quickly. I can't remember if perhaps I had lost a few in a row beforehand, but it set me off.
After I left the game, I slammed my desk right next to my mouse, which is not completely attached. This caused my mouse to jump in the air, fall and hit my tower, before swinging to rest at its side. I knew as soon it happened it was probably going to be broken in some way, and sure enough it was. The left mouse button now only works every so often, obviously not usable for most games, and even everyday use for that matter. I was almost more upset about breaking my mouse then the game itself after the fact, my mouse was a 7 year old razer diamonback plasma, it was a damn good mouse, but alas no more. RIP
From there, my rage continued blindly to TL, which happened to be open in my browser, and which aforementioned blog post was then typed. My mind was so clouded, I really wasn't expecting a ban, but it was certainly well deserved. Maybe a bit more info, maybe a little less caps, maybe even a link to the replay, or maybe I should have went to the letting off steam thread (probably this). Either way, there I was, banned for 2 days...and it sucked. I don't know if it was because I was banned or what, but I found myself reading threads and going, "Shit, I actually want to reply to this...". This happened on numerous occasions over those two days, but this comes with the territory I suppose.
I took my time banned from TL to order a new mouse, a Steelseries Kinzu, black, which seemed to fit my need and also at quite an affordable price. Sadly, it seems to be getting discontinued, as Steelseries only seemed to have the white one available, and many online retailers were out of stock. The mouse itself is very nice, left click is very quiet and feels really good in my hand. I'm actually extremely excited to start playing with it, and with the ladder season ending I should be able to get some practice in before the new season starts
So what's the moral of this blog? Follow the 10 commandments of TL, don't be an idiot when you post, especially blogs, and especially if a thread exists on your topic (which is a commandment anyway), and stay away from the post button if your raging. Thanks for the lesson TL, hopefully I can stay ban free!

Yeah I think a good piece of advice, similar to what you said is to make sure you are cooled off before you post. Before hitting that post button... stop and give yourself some time to cool off if you are raging :3

Use notepad if you just really want to see it typed out. Or go to the tech support boards and rant at someone, they don't get moderated all that much. I've compared them to TL's Gotham City a few times.
Note: That was a joke, moderation is improving there drastically.

Everyone gets mad regarding situations, and it's the aftermath that's important: whether the person learns or not. It's good to see people that reflect and try to learn from the experiences. Good luck on your ladder!

i remember my first ban was when leta beat flash and i called him a "HUGEEE C*******T", because in Australia that's how we compliment someone who just beasted a win...unfortunately the mods took it as an offensive term to leta and i got banned for 2 weeks. lol...

Its good that you took time to reflect on the situation. Everyone has those "final straw moments" once in a while. Micronesia's advice was very wise

Smart money is on a 4 letter word for a part of a womans anatomy though.

as a last resort next time rage on another website, or in the "letting off steam" thread. there you can spoiler your message with less risk for penalty.

Maybe consider a logitech mouse for your next purchase. My mx518 has survived unbelievable torture. I used to rage a lot when playing tf2, and I would constantly smash my mouse with full force onto the desk, several times in a row, whenever I got pissed off. Still works perfectly fine...

The best part is, when I read this one, I actually knew what blog he got banned for, without associating the names. I thought it was a pretty epic way to get banned, honestly. No half measures on that one.

you're taking the game too seriously .

You're thinking too narrow.
I remember my first ban, wasn't great. Then the next two ones were event worse and brutal.
Lesson learned, eh?
