I'm not doing a study on life without internet. I'm not going on vacation without a connection. I'm not willingly giving up internet to prove I don't have an addiction. I'm not going to be drugged up after having my wisdom teeth pulled, going to spend two weeks in preparation for Harry Potter, or going to a convention for two weeks.
Instead, my parents thought it was a good idea to cancel our current plan because we were getting a new connection today without regarding the fact that we might not have immediate service >.<
Two weeks without internet (aside from maybe visits to friends' houses or the local library), and absolutely nothing to do. I'm specifically looking for single-player games to fill my library with (preferably free, of course) that don't have a "connect to internet" DRM *coughsteamcough*.
In any case, I'll only be able to catch suggestions up to 24 hours from now
Any ideas/suggestions/requests for what games I should play?

No money, and I don't like DRM. I already have some emulators, but I currently only have games I actually own, which I've played about 238497 too many times XD

Because you can.
I'd rather not

They're both addictive as hell, fun as hell, and they'll teach you about your gaming roots.
I'm already on it :D

I highly doubt anybody in the US is even capable of doing that. Not because we're too "addicted" or something, but because electrical currents happen to be everywhere XD
Well you could play: FEAR 1,2 and 3 StarCraft ^^ - BroodWar, that's right, play that damn campaign. Half Life 1, Opposing Force and Blue shift. In addition why not play Half Life 2 episode 1 and 2. Play some Call of Duty - Campaign at least. Civilization 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Grab a nintendo 64 emulator. Project 64 I recommend and play super smash bros and Zelda, that will keep you going for a long time.
My ISP decided today (a national holiday in Canada) was the best day to do maintenance from 1pm to 9pm. Fucking assholes. "Hey, people are off today... let's fuck up their plans."
8 Hours was enough to make me go nuts (hopefully it doesn't go down again...been going up randomly for 10-20 minutes at a time during the day, probably for testing... it's 9pm though so hopefully it's over), so I truly sympathize with your problem.
It's one thing to not have internet when you plan it, but to have it cut off for stupid reasons is horrible. Yes I'm addicted, and I'm already preparing my computer for the next set of internet-less days (seriously, I even re-installed Unreal Tournament 3 today because I had nothing to play...). Going to download a ton of anime, movies, games and roms. Next time I won't be playing solitaire.
P.S : It went down again for a few minutes immediatly after this post. It's toying with me.
Reread all the Harry Potters in preparation for the movie. Also, go and buy the DVDs (or borrow from library) and watch all of them. Read the books again if you still have time.
I've got internet, but my PC is trashed and I've only got my old laptop which can only hardly run minesweeper, and that is pretty damn retarded. Been on it for a month now and it looks like it's gonna go on for a bit more. Actually finished Diablo2 just yesterday. lvl 63 sorc. It;s a nice time consumer.
tribaltrouble.com/ download the demo and play it for a little while. A RTS with a demo with just the most basic warriors. Can you beat 3 normal computers in 3v1 with rock alone?
Library -> internet gaming. Go there once a day every day ;D 24/7. GG INTERNET >
Library= my escape from the wretched life of power outages.
Alright, thanks everybody so far! I'll have internet tomorrow because I'm heading over to a friend's house to watch the Matrix (you can rage at how I still haven't seen it via PM ) for a bit.
I'm thinking I'll probably play a Final Fantasy game or two (I abuse the heck out of super speed), then move on to some smaller games (i.e. TDs and whatnot). I have no cash because my parents are sticklers for not playing video games in general (inorite?), so there's no way I'll be able to buy any games.

I own every single DVD up until now. I actually haven't read any of the books since the day the last one came out so that I'm as surprised as possible for the movies (although I still know the plot and almost all details, so it doesn't exactly help). I'm watching every movie on the 14th leading up to the midnight show on the 15th.
And if I run out of stuff to do after that, I guess I'll go do some C++/SDL stuff >.>
I recommend mechcommander 1 & 2, which were released for free by Microsoft several years ago. Personally I been feeling nostalgic and replaying mechcommander gold the past week.
Play some pokemon and some Snes games. You can always download some emulators. THats what I've done at least ! You can just dl them in your library and save em on an USB. Or buy some newer games and play trough.
