Everybody steals. From the overpriced spaghetti at a restaurant, to a crap game charged at full price on release, to the buy-1-get-one-free marketing gimmicks at the supermarkets, to the employer who doesnt ever pay his staff overtime. Since I am almost everyday getting ripped off in some form or anothher I will steal as well. And I dont care. Easiest post ever

Since I am almost everyday getting ripped off in some form or anothher I will steal as well. And I dont care. Easiest post ever I've come to the same conclusion. I grew up a gamer and at a young age decided I wanted to make games. I worked hard at school, college, and independent study and became a very good programmer. Through three failed business ventures in game development, I've had to deal with piracy, copyright infringement on a larger scale, cheating, whining, and fraud. Creditcard fraud has personally cost me thousands of dollars. In the end I decided everyone steals and now have a successful business software company. I'd rather deal with the large evil companies trying to screw me than the issues I had to deal with on a daily basis from the gaming community.

Because they inflate the price of the single product, giving the illusion that you are actually buying 1 extra item for the price of one. It is a very common marketing trick. For example: Lets say that a pack of Pringles costs £1.5 in my local supermarket. Next week, they stick a £2 price tag on in and announce buy-1-get-1-free. So yeah, you get another item but it is not what you think it is, you didnt save £2, you actually saved £1 because the pack of Pringles would never sell on its own for £2. It is so fucking misleading.

It is so fucking misleading. Idk how that works in Europe, but at least in the grocery store I work in the US, that's total utter bullshit. We offer all our BOGO products at their usual prices, but buy one get one free. It's called shrink, the prevention of an item from being sold at its full price. Generally shrink is a bad thing; theft, returns and damaged product are examples of shrink, but intentional shrink in the form of sales is to incite actual sale of that product. If you can show us a receipt, tag or sign that has the product at a lower individual price before the sale, we will give you both the items free of charge, no questions asked. Idk what kinda bullshit they're running in the UK, but in central Florida, we're honest bastards.
