Four games in a row, and four BMers saying I am a noob and I got lucky. Puzzled, I checked the four replays to verify if they were right.
They were so wrong...
I don't get it : In the beginning, it's "Yo, hey, gl hf, I love so much!" and then they lose and it's "Lol you are noob, stop playing this game I hope you die form cancer with herpes on on top"
This is a very strange phenomenon, I just don't understand it. Are they sarcastic or simply retarded, I really really don't get it. Is it frustation about themselves losing on a streak or simply a lack of intelligence? Still, this behavior is very strange.
When I lose on a streak, I will sometimes get frustated, but to insult the skill of the one who beat you is punching youself in the face... like very hard. I never experienced such behavior in the past.

just don't mind them. they are frustrated over themselves.

they're just jealous of your success

I think this is the first time I've ever heard of this happening. The planets must have been aligned when you were born.

Whenever I see a sentence like the headline for this blog, I try to imagine what the world would be like for it to be correct. Is there just one vast sore loser, mass bloated by his rage at having lost, this poor shambling grotesquery?
Perhaps that's the wrong interpretation, and many sore losers have been ground to a pulpy substance; the accumulation of a plurality of sore losers has led to a grotesque mountain of gore and viscera... so much sore losers.
Good God man, this is horrific.

Haha. Well, apparently it's pretty common, as your sarcastic comment says so (by the way my sarcasm detector just exploded as we speak), but I just don't understand what goes through their head when they decide to press ENTER and type this "you noob" crap and then have a huge disscussion about how much I suck. I am just not used to this kind of behavior, in fact, before now I never really believed someone could act so illogically.

I <3 hilarious BM
(start of game) me: glhf opp: glhf u2
(end of game) me: gg man [try to make it sounds as if im not saying GG NOOB NOW QUIT QUIT QUIT] opp: WOULDNT IT BE NICE IF ZERG UNITS COST MONEY!!! FUCK OFF!! me: lol opp has left the game
tbh, other players BM validates my strategies -- it tells me , hey, this worked, and well too. there is nothing they could have done at this point.. and that to me feels a lil like success, tho i dont agree with their BM'ing -- its just that one implies the other (if it was actually a gg - no cheese)

By that logic my 17 Ghost Academy mass nuke build is unstoppable (that's 17 Ghost Academies, not one at 17 food).
People BM the most when they don't bother learning how to beat something else that should be easily enough countered and they just rather tell themselves it's imba op bs hacks and gay faggot bullshit etc etc etc and there's nothing they can do.

OP u really canot comprehend?i truly do find it surprising that one cannot fathom this "phenomenon". They are not sarcastic or retarded.. also not really insulting the "skill" of you but rather they are trying to punch you in the face, not themselves in the face, cuz u beat them. u cause them to be angry by beating them. This ia competitive one on one game.. so a loss is a blow, there is noonoe else to blame but yourself. Most blame their opponent, so they take out their anger on u, by insulting u.... pls realise that the gl hf means nothin personal in the game.. it is just good manners and greeting.. it is not like the guy knows u or anything
I hope u understnad now op, it is in fact not an illogical or strange phenomenon. Rather, the ufo sightings of late are

don't offensively gg if you don't want it to sound like you're saying GG NOOB NOW QUIT QUIT QUIT. because that's what it's gonna sound like.
just don't do it unless you want to be douchy. please.
(i did it once in some random cg that i won as zerg (my worst offrace) because i wasn't thinking. felt bad afterwards)

What's wrong with you guys not cherishing BM? When someone starts off so well mannered and pollite, even social and devolves into a raging monster I relish the moment. For I have won more than ladder points, I have reached out to someone across the internet in lands unknown and really pissed them off.
I like that.

Haha, well put in that way, I must agree

It's nothing new, the frustration doesn't come just from losing a game. Some people come home stressed from work or school and decide to relax playing a video game, starcraft in this case. When they lose they get more frustrated, and you get this, bm. Not everyone is the same, some just cannot stay calm when they lose and feel the need to let it out by different methods, one of them, bm'ing. In some cases it can be bad, like "Lol you are noob, stop playing this game I hope you die form cancer with herpes on on top", but sometimes it's just funny when the other player bms you.

that's the basic mistake. you can't relax on sc2 ladder. xD

Agreed. My 2v2 partner and I celebrated when we were bad mannered for the first time. Our celebration was something to the effect of "Awesome! We have attained SC2 legitimacy!!!".
Though, if you find yourself in a frustrating situation like this it would be best to ask for a rematch with the same strategy so you have a good basis for improvement...

I found this post really amusing. I like your way of thinking

My favorite kind of end-game rage is when I've clearly gotten the upper hand in the game and they go "lol newb" or "u suck" and then leave.
I think when people BM you when you're winning it's actually really funny and not offensive at all. The act of calling the winner a newb will never get old. The funny part about it is that I AM actually a really bad player, so when they tell me I'm a newb and I suck it's like, yeah, I do suck, and you STILL managed to lose.

This type of thing never happened to me in BW or SC1, it was always in good fun to play and everyone was polite, cant remember the first time anyone ever raged at me cause i irradiated his lurkers <.<.
NOW with SC2 all the Halo kids who decided to play sc2 are being douche bags, i have a couple of people who reacted this way but i MOSTLY just get people not gg'ing out of the game or not saying gl hf at the start. The other day i got a guy who was surprised i GG'd out of the game that i had lost ( i effed up a lot so it was mostly my fault :/ ) and he msg me after the game to thank me for not being a douche haha, i was happy about that .

Sounds like you got lucky because I saw BM a LOT in BW. I'll agree that it was probably lower on iccup thanks to the skill gaps. I've noticed that people rage when they think they're good and lose to something they consider bad. It takes a LONG time to reach that level on iccup, a much shorter length of time than it takes to become decent at SC2. Note that I said "decent", not "good".
In addition, if you didn't like losing and were about a C- level you could smurf all day, reset accounts, and noob bash to blow off steam. It' not so easy (or cheap) in SC2, so I could see this increasing the BM also.
