Hello TL people,
I am just here making my first blog on what an experience this has been for me thus far. But, before we can begin that I must say and introduce myself. My name is Daniel and from the start of my younger days I was playing video games since the Genesis. From there it progressed computer games like StarCraft and BW, to SeriousSam, CS:S, and other games. Growing has been a trip for me also, living with a divorce family with both of them basically selling their houses just to have custody of me was a joke really. After the long custody fight I decided to live with my dad just have a better stability in my life instead of moving from house to house. But, soon that didn't change from there we moved three times during my high school years were still I was passively playing video games whenever my dad would allow it.

Entering my first years of high were pretty interesting. That was the year where I first started to delve into computers a lot more. Learning about the parts and how does this and that work. Still occasionally would play BW or watch a video of Bisu kicking sAviOr's ass lol. But, besides all of that I always wanted to do things that people told me that wasn't viable or that I couldn't do. Like for example take this in consideration. My parents both didn't understand why I collect cards from Pokemon to Magic the Gathering cards. Later down the road I did. I started to play in tournaments and started to take home prizes and sometimes even some nice cash money. Looking back I always wanted to take some game or some hobby I do to a professional level because that is what I enjoy. I love the community, the people, and the times you can just strike a random conversation with some about any game.

Starcraft 2. Well this is going to be a big one. When I first heard about Starcraft 2 I would follow the videos on the units compositions and what changes they are doing. I thought it was brilliant. Me and this guy back in freshman name Julient would play custom games on the BW servers just having fun. Back then I utterly was afraid to play games against other players because I had to keep track of everything and it was mind blowing. Just sheer fun after a while. From there it just took off. StarCraft 2 got released, so I decided to get a copy for my self like a month later because I didn't have the funds to afford it atm. But, soon after me and this friend jean would just play 2v2 and watch replays about what each other did to win a game, back when we were newbies. ( Silver League).

I guess what I'm trying to portray in this blog is that I pour hours and hours of games into this game with a open mind learning new builds and trying new things. Like I put a average of 10hrs a day into this game and quite frankly I really enjoy this game. I don't mind losing even if its BS on some games. I walk away get a drink and watch the replay on why and how I lost on that game. At the same time I've had both my uncle and my father tell me that this isn't something I can do for the rest of my life. Hell if I can just do this for a couple of years would make me happy. I work with my friends in the Master leagues, sLeEpy and MGBattlekila have been a huge help with me. Right now I sit in Gold Rank 1 fixing to move into platinum/diamond depending if they want to be nice.

Thank you all for having the time to read through this hope you enjoy and I did as well. I might just post more later.

I was actually enlisting into the Navy. But, in the mean time if I catch a lucky break then I'm taking it. But who knows.

Not even. I just started to srsly sit down and play this last month just playing 10 hrs a day. Maybe in a year or 2 do something with this. But, right now it's non stop playing practicing my builds and such. I Don't let the league scaling judge on how well or how good I play. Because we all know that the league system sucks for scaling people, but I'm not saying that Im pro either. I just feel that I need to be moved up in order to play more experienced games. Did I say I wanted to make money in the Esports? Hell I may even want to go to a tournament like sLeEpy did and meet a guy and bam just land a lucky break. You never know until you try your hardest.

Ty L3g3nd for those words. No I haven't quit my day job just for this game yet. I still need to support myself. But I just pour so much time playing this. Watching Day[9]'s netcast when Im not playing or watching streams. Observing on what other people do and how do they do it so well.

No, the league system is pretty accurate as far as your actual skill level. Your uncle and pops are right so I'm not sure what you're saying and what the blog title is referencing???

Sure, chase your dreams but don't neglect the back up plan. :-D Good luck, but for God's sake man don't pass up opportunities outside of the game (life) because you're on the brink of getting promoted to higher league.

The frequency of these "I only want to play Starcraft 2 for my life right now" blogs is mildly upsetting.

It makes me wonder if these threads are trolls to find people who actually agree with this, or they're posted by guys who are impossibly immature. Gaming is great but to make it in gaming you have to be the best of the best, not just someone who 'plays a lot.'

The other thing is that gaming is a talent; it is something that you can practice and be good at any time in your life. Starcraft 2 is going to be around for a while, but there is really only one time to go to school and learn the important things you need to make it in life. Do that first. I'm sincerely trying to help here.
Life is not about making due with what you have; it's about finding out just how much you can achieve. Never settle for anything less than the best. - - - Read my blog!
