What a disaster these last few weeks have been. If you've caught any of my other blog posts you'll know that I am attempting to put together a SC2 show that will air every day but Wed. and Sat. at 8 pm EST on my stream. You'll also know that I've been having a terrible time of it.
First I found that my computer and other equipment was not up to the task. So I replaced it. A new compy, webcam, microphone and headphones later and I was ready to roll. Until none of my software worked. So I tried to fix that, which didn't work. I got new software and StarCraft 2 stopped working. After beating my head against my desk I switched software again only to find that my stream had started lagging at some point and I can't seem to get it to stop. Deciding that I could live with it (it seems to be fine at lower quality) I was all ready to go this week when I got a call from my boss.
Like most people in the StarCraft 2 community, I work to support myself (and my family) and have been doing all this mucking about in my spare time. I'm okay with this for now, but it requires that I have free time in which to muck about.
But I digress. My boss came over to talk to me and the conversation when something like this:
My Boss: "Hey Seth [<--that is my name], hows it going?" Me: "Good. Whats up?" My Boss: "How would you like some overtime this week? We're pretty far behind and have to get everything in the system out by the 17th." Me: "I can put in some extra hours." My Boss: "Excellent, thanks." Me: "How bad are we?" My Boss: "How do you feel about not going home until the 17th?" Me: "Son of a..."
The conversation took a downhill turn at that point, and as a result I'm working 6+ 16 hour days this week. Yeah...96 hours and chances are I'll be continuing next week. Needless to say, no show this week.
I'm determined to do this show and I'm not going to let silly things like my life get in my way. It will happen, believe me. In times like these I turn to the words of great men for inspiration. Great men like Cave Johnson who said, "When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life takes the lemons back!"
In the spirit of that, I'm taking the tiny amount of time I have to do some prep work for the show next week. I'm also starting to talk with a couple people about some ideas I've had and I'm reading a textbook on Broadcast Announcing, to try to get a better grasp of what I need to be doing to improve.
So, heres to pushing on regardless of the circumstances. Heres to burning houses down with lemons!

Haha that looks sick, very creative :D
So what do you do besides making lemonade grenades that forces you to work 16 hours a day o.O Hope the money's worth it o: or you're at least remotely enjoying what you are doing ^_^

Haha that's class Lemonades, feel bad for you though that's a lot of time to be stuck at work hopefully you don't go insane and i read about it in the news some when

The picture isn't mine, just something fun I found. Still, they make me chuckle.
I print t-shirts on a big digital printer. The company I work for does personalized shirts (found here) and ships all over the USA. Normally we're only this busy over Christmas, but this year everyone has decided to get their Dad a shirt for Father's day.

Those are actually really cool shirts and stuff haha. They do sound like they'd be great father's day gifts <_<...anyway, on the bright side you're getting paid extra!

I'm a bit disappointed, I thought this was about lemon parties :/

@Empyrean, that extra cash is the only saving grace. It might hurt now, but I'll be smiling when I get the 56 hours of overtime pay
@Liquid'HuK, its the truth. It'd be sick to work in SC2 as I could then pay my bills and do what I love, but for now, I do what I need to.
@SenorChang, My goal for the show is to develop my casting abilities and learn more about the game. I'm pretty bad at SC2 and enjoy watching the game a lot more then I enjoy playing it. I'll be casting a lot of games and doing some analysis to deepen my knowledge of SC2. Honestly though, at this point, the show is about having a good time and enjoying SC2. Hope you come hang out some time.

My Boss: "Hey Seth [<--that is my name], hows it going?"
Great name ^^
Keep pressing on! Good things take time and it sounds like this show is definitely one of those things and I'm sure it will turn out great
