I wrote up a page long post before this with a history/introduction to my life of gambling but it got erased when I tried to submit and there's no way I'm going back to rewrite everything. Many of you may know me as Inflowyen, one of the featured streamers. Anyways, here's my story.

PA Sands -- Friday 6/4/2011

Drive down after work, sit at 2/5, buyin $500.

5 Handed action.

I raise 3x bb on button, sb folders, BB calls.

Flop: 5h 6d Qs

Bingo. Flopped my set on rainbow flop. Checks to me, I lead 20 and get flatted by BB.

Turn: 8h

Checked to me, I lead 40 and get raised to 100. I flat.

River: 6h

Made my 4 of a kind. BB leads for 200, I raise all in, insta called.

Had no idea at this time that the casino had a bad beat jackpot. Face was stone cold and was absolutely sick that my I lose to this on my second hand at the table. Players go crazy, pit bosses swarm the table and I realized shortly after that I just hit a bad beat. Total pot 164k to which I received 50%. GG.

Rolling up the stakes and heading to Vegas. Tickets booked for next Thursday , will be playing in the $2500 6-max WSOP event, some 100-200HE on the side as well. Let's see what happens. Upates to come.

Your friend must smoke a lot Lol. The week before this I went pretty crazy at Borgata -- betting 500 / blackjack hand, 1k color bets on roulette, etc. Need to stay away from that.

Congrats on the 82k

but are you RETARDED? You are a self admitted degen gambler, and because you made money not because of good solid play, but because of the jackpot, you're flying out to the world series to play tournament poker, which is a whole different beast, and planning on moving up in stakes? Moving up in stakes should be something you do if you deserve to from solid play and grinding your bankroll up.

Losing a pot with a 4 of a kind.. I don't think I've ever seen that before lol.
Turned out well for you though. Don't blow the 82k in one night.

Maybe I should rephrase myself. I guess 'degen gambler' isnt the best description I should have used lol. I do risk analysis for a financial trading company so trust me, I know wha tyou mean. Been playing cards since I was 13, moved my way up to 40-80 limit / 5-10 NL from my play, not bankroll. Throwing bets on table games every now and then is just for fun, but I do keep it in moderation(except last weekend). 40-80 -> 100/200 HE isn't really out of line since I've been beating the 40-80 @ borgata.

Alright fair enough, I mean going to the WSOP and playing in an event is a thing to check off the bucket list but just from reading your blog I was hoping to dear god you wouldn't blow off that 80k by raising your stakes if you're not a winning player with a strong EV.

Lol good looks, poker players need more friends like you to remind them to time to stay on course. Also, dont forget that WSOP is the most +ev time of the year. Yea the grinders will be there, but the field is filled with a ridic amoutn of donks. Also, 80k isn't completely life changing for me so its a nice boost to cover a nice little vaca for next week. I'm shipping most of the money to fam overseas, sending some to a charity that I have in mind, and putting the rest back into action. Hope I continue to run good...

BBJ is always a sick bink so grats, but I'm having so much fun reading the blog. Between Zlasher making sure you don't spew it all away, CaucasianAsian mentioning his roommate's BBJ money going up in smoke, and someone thinking if you were going to take shots at 20000NL with that 82k, there is so much enjoyment. Even edzwoo couldn't resist posting in this haha.

p.s. I hope you carry that luck over and ship yourself a shiny new bracelet(Event 26??). And if you go deep, you better let TL know!

Well, although the WSOP has plenty of donks a lot of the players there are the young grinders who log in 100k hands a week so the EV isn't as high as it would seem, except in the early rounds. Like I said, the WSOP is a bucket list thing and I think that its amazing that the jackpot can help you check that off your list, definitely a nice thing to do as a vacation, I'm really glad you're using that money to help out family though, Personally I'd stuff it back itno my bankroll, or even put like 80% into savings and just keep 20% as bankroll and think of that 20% as how much I would have made given the .0001% that the bad beat was layed upon you lol.

At first glance I thought you were jumping from 2/5 to 100/200 NLHE, which would be an insane jump in stakes. Then I noticed it was limit.

Sick win with the BBJ. Hopefully you can run good at the WSOP this summer.

Had to play 2-5 that day since their highest stake is 5-5 which doesnt start until night time(I went down at 6AM). The drive is only 30 min from my work place which is sick. Best part was the 4 security guards that escorted me out. Their faces were priceless when I tipped each with $100.

How much did you tip the dealer for that ? And did the winner of the hand just win like your 500 ? I'd be bit upset if the loser of the pot got 80 k and I won only a fraction beating him.

Check out the white guy's smile in the pic lol. To me, that doesn't look like the smile of a guy who won just $500

Gave dealer 4k in cash. And yea he took my 500 but I didn't mind lol. Actually, while we were both waiting for the cage to process the checks, we went to BJ and each bet 500 on 1 hand. Both hit blackjack with dealer showing 6 LOL. GG.

No usually it goes the bad beat loser gets 50% (syksen in this case) the winner gets 25% and the rest of the table splits the rest.

PS: Lol I love that you just went out and ate like a King, and bought two baller watches that night. Good stuff. Also you're a good man for tipping that dealer 4k haha, s/he just funded a family vacation for a week for that, easy good stuff. Me being a poor college student might have skipped my mind to have tipped the dealer well that night. x.x

PPS: What type of watch is that? Any chance you could link it on here?

Did her a favor by giving her cash.

The watch are both Movado's, not 100% sure what the model is but I believe the right one is the Serio series and the other the Saphire one.

Not really. Game was 5 handed so the call wasn't totally unjustified. Led 20 on flop and he called with open ender so it was completely fine. What a river though

Going to be posting a new entry shortly with some stories from this past weekend.. pretty sick weekend for that matter.

PA Sands is in Bethlehem right? I go to school across town (Lehigh) and was wondering how that place was, considering I might spend a little bit of time there once I turn 21.

The place is not that nice - its basically a casino in a warehouse lol. Comps are shitty atm(i cant even get a free room playing at the $100 min bj tables). the poker games are okay, very soft up to the 5-5 game which is the largest limit they have. Plays more like a 10-25 imo.
