Using the F keys in SC2 - Page 2

Then I came to realize that they were actually still there or maybe they added them back and so I just rehotkeyed them to F2-5 since the normal CTRL F5 is pretty retarded. Anyway, it seems like most notable players that stream don't use the F keys, so maybe they don't know about them? Enlighten me if you will, thanks <3

Louuster Canada2869 Posts June 06 2011 14:41 GMT #22 They were always f5-f8 but nobody used those. Now that it is possible to re-bind to f2-f4 like in BW, it becomes more practical to use them. However, the reason most people used them was to control production buildings and rally point, which is not an issue now that you can select mutiple buildings.

Anyways, really, I think players don't use their F keys, because they're too far away from the actual keyboard. Most normal keyboards, there's a small gap between the numbers and the F Keys, that it takes too much time to actually move your hand there and back to your regular position. Anyways, that's just my 5 cents on it.

EzPz Scotland64 Posts June 06 2011 23:54 GMT #25 As a Zerg player i only really use F Keys to help with creep spread and to jump too opponents mineral lines if i have a Overlords hanging by. Saves me waisting groups on overlords. I have all hatch on 4 and queens running up from 5-7(8) Would have been great too hear one of the Korean Zergs take on it
