I think the mix feels a bit muddy and the sound quality isn't great but I haven't been able to figure it out. Just let me know what you think.

Hm I think about 3 years but extremely on and off. Just FL studio and mainly sylenth1 for the synths etc. No controllers but I want to get some. T_t

T_t I was going to guess something longer than when you started posting these on TL, because I noticed you started posting them on blogs about what...9 months ago? They are too good for 9 months. Your tracks are really solid overall. I'm surprised you haven't signed up for any labels or anything (or have you?).

Yup longer than that, but I actually feel as if I've learned 90% in the last year or so. Haven't signed or even bothered with sending out demo's etc as of yet. o.o

My only criticism is that it doesn't stand out in any way, there's nothing unique about it to make me want to listen to this specific song over any other. Unfortunately I can't think of exactly what you could change or add to it, but once you figure that out you'll be solid. Yeah I know what you're saying. I think I'm going to actually work a little more on this one though, I think there's room for some more progression and another section. It's hard to be unique, gotta experiment and get some lucky accidents I suppose.

What I'd suggest is that you get your drumsounds unique, now they just sound like they're slanted from some drum sample pack. For reference burial gets his samples for drumsounds from movies doors shutting and opening and keys twisting the locks etc etc etc. Sampling is definitely the key always for some really inspirational stuff. also, get those pianosounds more massive, it would really uplift the whole tune! heres what I had in mind!

Definitely think the piano sound could be fatter though, but piano is such a funny sound because it tends to clash with just about everything in your mix if you don't tame the shit out it with eq. T_T oh well. Sweet tune. On May 27 2011 07:48 Starparty wrote: Banging track m8. I think you can afford to compress the master even a little harder if you want a bit more pumping sound Thx. You're probably right, I'm not too good at the whole mastering thing so I'll give it a shot. On May 27 2011 13:51 Zapdos_Smithh wrote: Dude your track called "duns" is frigging awesome. Good shit seriously. Glad you liked it. Also keep those mixes coming I listen to em all the time. Actually I'm probably going to bug you for some track names soon if you don't mind, just have to write down the mix & time.
