I was sitting here thinking about the differences between the mechanics of Z in Brood War and in Starcraft 2... and I was looking for a  PrO (I guess foreign since we're on TL here) WhO was a Z in BW and stuck with the race  Into SC2.
If my Memory serves me correctly...
Nony was a P and stuck with that.
IdrA went from T to Z
 iNcontroL went from Z to P
Artosis went from T to Z to P
BRAT_OK stuck with T
JF was a P but I don't know what he's up to nowadays... I Never hear from him
FA was a P and changed to T
Tasteless went from R to P
Day9 went from Z to ... I guess R, Really...
Testie stuck with P I think
Kiante doesn't Really play or compete in SC2...
boesthius doesn't play sc2
matoo- has been afk for god knows how long now
MnM doesn't play anymore, i don't think
whiteRa stuck with P
Strelok went from P to T, I think
... does anyone know? I'M Actually Really having trouble thinking of someone.

... but that took me an awful long time to think of someone. Are there any others? I don't know if HayprO was a Z in bw**. For some ReasoN I WanT to say he was a T
I guess JulyZerg stuck with Z, but I don't think I can find out his opinion on the changes in mechanics with the race Anytime soon and I wouldn't know where to look for his comments on the matter, either...
PS: On a Side thought, does anyone know of any Day9 dailies where he compares and contrasts how you play Zerg in BW and SC2? I have vague memories of at least ONE occasion, but it was in passing and not Really much of a talking Point during the daily itself. I'd be Happy to watch it all the Way through to look for it even if you're not entirely sure if its that ONE.

Machine is the first one that comes to mind, then after that Ret and Haypro, as well as Mondi
Also, boesthius isn't a pro lol, and he played P in BW, and he also plays P in SC2, which yes, he does play.

I thought of Kiante because after I ran out of people who were famous on TL for winning tournaments, my mind went to people who were famous on TL for broadcasting tournaments. That's why I thought of boesthius and matoo- right after, probably. Kiante wasn't that bad of a player, though.
I guess I was trying to think of people who would know a lot about the mechanics of Z in bw more so than progamers per se.
Edit -- I don't really remember Dimaga from before, actually, but I do get the feeling in the back of my mind that he was there, but just not as "out there" as the other people I've remembered.

To go on, I believe Sheth was Zerg in BW, ViBE from sixjax gaming, CatZ, etc. Not all of them were BW pros per se, but are now SC2 pros.

I don't think Sheth was as well-known as the other guys, but yeah CatZ is a guy I should've also thought of there.

He was the best zerg outside of Korea with Ret, Sen, F91 and ( active ) Mondi.

It might be easier to ask what HASN'T changed as opposed to what has, seeing as SC2 is completely different from BW in general.

Well I don't think that that's true at all, actually...
Protoss +1 upgrades still let Zealots kill Zerglings with one less swipe
4 lings are still the minimum to kill a zealot (without micro of course)
the base units are pretty much the same (except for the zealot health and shield stats)
the unit speeds and base attacking ranges are pretty much the same
and a lot of the timings haven't changed that much, I don't think (you can still hit a fast expanding, hatch first Z with a bunker rush early on for guaranteed pressure so that he's forced to make more lings than he wants to, for example)

If you want general information like that then this thread doesn't need to be addressed to pros. I thought you were asking about more in-depth things like how roach affected ZvZ and stuff like that. Either way, this deeper stuff is likely to change (hopefully the game evolves strategically, and will DEFINITELY change with patching), and the simple stuff is blatantly obvious.

I wasn't looking for info about that kind of stuff (I mean if I'm able to list a bunch of examples off of the top of my head, I'm pretty sure that I don't need to talk to a pro to learn about them). I was just giving counterexamples.

On the other hand, Zealots and zerglings act different then their counterparts in terms of micro(AI), Zerglings Adrenaline glands in SC2 suck compared to its predecessor,and I believe their Attack speed got shafted overall too.
Units clump, so reduced surface area.
Look at the marine, it standard has 45 hp, can get shield for 10 hp extra buffing it up to 50 hp, Stim has different percentages, the BW marine has 40 hp, thats it.
I could go on and on, case in point, its not nearly the same game.
