I am an obsessed fan of the movie "Léon" (1994) directed by Luc Besson.
How time flies. I remember the first time I watched this movie in 2003. And how I searched the Internet and discovered the wonderfulness that is IMDB discussion. And how I debated hot-headedly with several posters on the various interpretations of Luc Besson's masterpiece. I was active on Léon's IMDB board for at least a year.
And then, I graduated from college, got a job, moved between cities, then countries. Somewhere in the middle of all that my love for Léon and Mathilda never went away. I jotted down a few lines for a song back in my college years, which grew into stanzas, which grew into parts, which has become a complete song. I then took some time to create an accompanying video that comprises of my most-beloved scenes from the movie. The result is an original composition called "True Shape of My Heart" which you may listen/watch at the following youtube link:
I'm sorry if this post sounds like a shameless self praise. I'm just really glad I've finished writing this song and although the quality is amateurish, I can be certain it is one of my most prized undertaking in life thus far.
And yes...back in 2003 it was romantic love, now in 2011 it is still romantic love in my book. Léon and Mathilda, Mathilda and Léon...it's two against the world.
