Today I was packing up my dorm room and I couldn't help but feel a little sad! I feel like my room really portrays who I am, so it was really sad having to box up everything and take down all of my posters!
Thus, today I will give you a mini-tour!
Let us start with what I see everyday. In fact, it's the view I have right now:
![[image loading]](http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o4/GinRyuChan/1.jpg)
If you can tell from my screen, I'm playing League of Legends (as Nidalee, of course). I almost always game on my bed, though I have a super, super comfortable chair! I like having the natural light coming through my window next to me (which runs the full length of my bed and beyond). Having my legs up used to be uncomfortable, but I've gotten so used to it that I actually prefer it to sitting in chairs!
You can see the posters I have in my room, I marked them so you can tell what they are. The only non-game posters are my Endfest 16 poster (I am from Seattle, afterall) and one of my shooting range calibration sheets from when I was in the Army! Alright, so I wasn't in the real military, I was in ROTC my freshman year of college. I actually quit two days before I signed the next 11 years of my life! Whew!
Now, when I am gaming, I do like to keep well fed and watered, so this is my refreshment area:
![[image loading]](http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o4/GinRyuChan/2.jpg)
Alright, so maybe I keep a decent amount of alcohol on hand. This picture is actually from last semester, when I was drinking more hard alcohol. Since this semester has been tougher, I've kept almost purely to my lovely beer with the exception of parties. However, I do eat tons of ramen and other goodies at night (pot stickers from Trader Joe's are a godsend), so my microwave is put to good use!
My fridge generally has beer, cheese, bread, pickles, microwave dinners, v8 and onion dip in it. I'm on a meal plan at my college, so the microwave dinners are just for when I miss a meal or I am feeling particularly hungry and lazy at 3am. Right now, however, my fridge has FOUR POUNDS of strawberries in it! I was going produce shopping and they were the only thing reasonably priced (avocados, my usual favorite, were $2 a pop, but the four pounds of strawberries were only $3.99!).
Oh, yes, and my cheshire cat mug is absolutely amazing because the cat disappears all except for his grin when you fill it with hot water! Plus, the original artwork for the novels is sooooo much better than any Disney version.
Anyway, on to the last section of my room. I like to call it my Blizzard shrine. Haha, the sad thing is I have so many more objects I could put on it (my Pandaren brewmaster mug, my SC2 Blizzcon wristbands, my inflatable frostmourne), but I like to keep it uncluttered and classy. Well, as classy as any nerd can be about games!
![[image loading]](http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o4/GinRyuChan/3.jpg)
Note: The two figureprints are not of any of my characters, I got them free in raffles after various Blizzcons (I think it was 2009 and 2010).
Unfortunately, a number of parts of my room aren't pictured because... well, I didn't think of this blog before packing up my room.
Notable objects that are not pictured are:
- PS2 with 2 DDR pads and a ton of PS1 games - Bass guitar and amp - Death Note wall scrolls - Large sound system - Closet full of costumes and clothes - Cococat bath mat - Catbus rug - Six bottles of various hot sauces - My turtles (Vex and Lux)

Your room is quite the nerdcave. :D In the most positive way possible, of course.
I especially approve of the fake flowers. Real flowers are too high-maintenance for me, since I have no sense of responsibility whatsoever.

I have a minifridge in my room. The entire contents are:
Ice (in the freezer section) 40 of Jack Daniels Whiskey, open 40 of Bacardi White Rum, open 40 of Smirnoff Vodka, open 26 of Original Baileys, open 26 of Caramel Baileys, open 26 of Cointreau Liqueur, open 6 pack of Sleeman Clear (bottles), untouched 6 pack of Rickard's Red (bottles), untouched 4 cans of Magners Cider
And beside my fridge, I have an unopened 24 pack of Keith's pale ale (bottles), unopened.
I got a really, really, really nice gift card for the LCBO a while ago as a "thank you" for something I did. I've still got about 50 bucks left on it, and I bought all of that shit (minus the Keith's, I got that from something else) with the gift card. "Free booze" ftw.
I'm clearly an alcoholic. Because that's basically the only notable shit in my room at the moment. Other than the chair I'm in right now. Man, is it comfy.
I must commend you though, Sailor Jerry's is fucking awesome stuff. As is Jameson. You've got good taste.

Wow. Good thing you're a girl. If you were a dude and I walked into that room, I'd be worried.

It's beyond me how you're so cool/nerdy and so cute... Lucky you ^_^

why do people decorate their rooms with boxes of the games they play?

Do you really expect much more from a college dorm? I've seen my share of dormrooms, and this is one of the better ones.
If it was a room in her house I think it would be a little different.

I would expect less actually. Less = better. Its the things in the room that make it bad. I can only assume you've seen mostly guy dorms which gives you a skewed perspective

Ahaha. I went on a tour of HMC.
I was in some Sontag dorm in which there was a shitton of SC2 stuff, a tl.net poster, and a guy who liked to cook...
A lot.
And like 3 falling apart sofas in common area?
Sound familiar?

Actually most of my friends in dorms were girls

That microwave would look better with a bottle of Delirium on top.

Yeah, I'm really happy I got them. They just add a nice touch!

I grew up as the geeky girl with glasses (then braces) who dressed like a boy and was lanky and anti-social (I played Magic: The Gathering during recess), that probably helped.

I only started it when I got the SC2 CE, because it's sort of a bragging right and it's such a beautiful box!!

Well, it just sounds like Mudd. That could be any suite in any dorm, really! However, I really don't know anyone who lives in Sontag, so I'm not sure who's suite it was.

Yeah, I have a feeling they were the rejected or errored prints. Probably misspellings on the name or the wrong item or something. The hunter is a lowbie, but cute with her polar bear, the other one is a human warlock in WotLK gear and looks almost exactly like my old arena partner, so I really like it.

Very interesting room. Much nicer then mine which was rather boring when I lived on campus in my undergrad, had barely anything up! Where do you go to school?
|
Bah Humbug! You college youngins make me miss college. I think I might have to go back to Blacksburg sometime this fall for a game. Actually season tickets and tailgating at games is not a bad short-term life goal. Now get off mah lawn!!!!!

Yet again, I'm appalled by the way americans cook ramen. All of my american friends cook their ramen via microwave. I'll never understand ><

I live in a dorm room without a kitchen, I am kind of limited on culinary options.

Go out into the quad and start a campfire, that should only lead to success.

Rofl, that happens more often than you'd expect! Our dorm has a dedicated firepit!

Back when I was an undergrad I bought a electric stove for cooking tofu/ramen. Looked something like this:

Definitely worth the $15 to have decent grub while playing WoW. They weren't technically allowed due to fire hazard but if you're not retarded it shouldnt be a problem.

Hm, I guess that's a good option as long as I don't try to cook while inebriated!

nice blog, love reading them Riku. However, more importantly...did you win that game of LoL!?

Yep! While my team was fairly squishy, I went for more AP than normal and healed like mad during the team fights with my stolen blue buffs! :D
A fed Eve with a primal surge is fairly scary!

When I was at Mudd, a sofa that appeared to be falling apart in a common area still probably got a lot of use. When they were no longer usable, we burned them. I think things have mellowed a bit.

Unfortunately, the administration kidnaps couches that have any visable holes, so they never get worn out to the point that they get burned. Also, we are now lacking when it comes to couches. West is quite happy to still burn anything else, though!
