EPTI've followed the GSL since day one and I still remember when they announced the 100,000,000 WON prize for GSL 1. Like every other person on TL (or so I presume) I googled how much that was in USD and it came out to roughly $85,000.
Fast forward to today. I saw the new GOM tournament and noticed that, yet again, the prize was 100,000,000 WON. I had forgotten what the original amount was in USD (I've since google'd it) but, to my surprise, the prize pool has jumped to $92,500.
I thought it was pretty cool to be seeing economics and starcraft so closely intertwined ^^. I wonder if Korea is strengthening or if America has just declined that much. Pretty interesting none the less. Might explain those damn gas prices lol
