jk Nice post, I agree with everything except that part about Idra because I don't know the problem.

I tend to agree with you on the whole "you must be pro" to discuss area, however as I mostly frequent the BW section, it isn't so much of an issue. Mostly this isn't an issue because we have shining examples there such as Ver who has such a depth of knowledge about Terran despite never being very high-ranking on ICCup(as far as I know?) and the fact that no-one in their right mind is going to tell you to prove it by going to Korea and competing with the progamers. So until this state of "well you go and do it better" wears off you're just going to have to live with it for now... Likewise SC2 is in a unique position in that sense that people can still whine about balance and hope Blizzard will patch something in their favor, where as in BW, once the patch times ran out, you just learned to deal with issues and overcome them. I really think IdrA exemplifies your Argument from Ignorance statement, as he assumes because Zergs(most especially himself) aren't winning tournaments in a big fashion that something must be wrong with the game instead of attempting a different approach. The ZvP scenarios show this the best, he complains that he loses 5base vs 3base toss deathball, instead of listening to advice from fellow zerg players such as Mondragon, to not get into that position in the first place. It was especially funny in SotG although I tuned out halfway through when someone asked him what he thought the weakest race in BW was, where he said "TvP". Obviously TvP is hard at lower levels, but unless IdrA is relegating himself to that, he should just look up to FlaSh, Fantasy or any of other good terrans surrounding him in Korea at the time to see how to play it. When the TL community does display its better sides though it shines all the more brightly!

SC2 is bigger in terms of the TL community, hence it has more people, this means that there are more smart people then in BW(with good arguments etc) but they can get drowned in the mass that is well, the rest. It is a shame, good thing the Strategy forums purge is making it a better place.

You're not displaying a logical argument here by saying that because SC2 has more people, it must have more smart people. That's like trying to say because Germany has more people, they must have more smart people than the Netherlands. It doesn't make sense either way. However let's not derail the OP.

As for the rest of your post, i agree with what you are saying as well for the most part. I think though it is dangerous to say that we should always be able to judge the pro players, i think there needs to be a line in the sand. Otherwise i can see things not getting any better. To the next 1000 posts good sir.
